.:-The Warwick Amp Club-:.

I got the 5.1 and a 410. Out of all the amps I tried at the local shop, it was only the profet 2 that treated the warwick the best. That was a german-made amp, only 220 watts or something, but I go the 5.1 instead.
Very happy, lotsa oomph of course. I never actually go much further than 1 or 2 o'clock because it's loud enough. So far.
But,
I got a hankering for a 15...
I want that simple bass oomph, all bottom.
Would it be a great loss if I swapped the 410 for a 115..?
I wanna keep some of the growl of the SSII, but don't care much for too much treble & top (not much slapping here).
Anyone play such a combo, 5.1 & 115?
curious!

Hi there mate,

i use the warwick 115, and the 5.1,:D and it sounds fat, fat as pavoroti, so its all good. also, even tho it does sound fat, it still retains enuff growl as well, and as ur using a SSII, there will be plenty of growl, but wiv BASS!:hyper:

I use mine with a Jazz bass, so its 'kinda' similar to ur SSII

Well I know it's been a while since anyone added to this thread but I'm waiting for my X-treme 5.1 and WCA 411 Pro which should be arriving in the next couple of days. :D

Since this thread is one of the only sources of Warwick amp info on the net then I think it should be resurrected. I want my number in this club. :hyper:

Anyways despite ordering the X-treme I haven't actually heard the thing yet but I tried the Profet 3.3 and that was cool so I'm hoping the X-treme is just gonna - well, be amazing!

Is there anyone out there who's upgraded to the X-treme from the Profet who can give a brief review of the differences?

Hello All,
I am checking in from the states. I have heard rave reviews about the TubePath 5.1 and 10.0. I had settled on the 5.1(I don't think I will ever need 1000 watts). I cannot find the TubePath on the internet for sale here, but have found it in England on the net. I checked the Warwick site(Germany) and it list a group of dealers, but not of those has the amp on it's site. Does anyone know if the TubePath 5.1 has switching capabilty from 220-240 to 115-120 volts? I wanted the TubePath for the warm sound and I am wanting to build a rack system(with surge protector for the amp head), for travel purposes. If anyone knows a dealer in the USA that sells this, could you pass that info on to me, please. Is the X-Treme 5.1 comparable to the TubePath 5.1 in sound(I am not just looking for loudness)? There seems to be plenty of those on sale in the USA. Any advice and or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Stephen

Hey Stephen,
I know a Warwick dealer called Rocket Music that sells Warwick amps. The guys name is Greg Bump & he's a very honest & reliable dealer.I know several guys that've bought gear off him & am yet to hear a single complaint.I dont have his details on me just now,but if you google Rocket Music you'll get what you need.He also has a sponsored forum section here on Talkbass. He can supply you with what you want with the correct voltage for the USA.Unfortunatly,Warwick amps arent very prolific in USA as other countries.
Congrats on going with the Tubepath,it's an excellent amplifier.I have several friends that own them & love them.Over at the Warwick bass forum,a former long term Ampeg owner did an A/B comparison between a Tubepath & Ampeg Svt2 (pre Pro model) & it was very difficult to pick them apart. The advantage the Tubepath has is it's alot more versatile than it's Ampeg rival.
Cheers mate.

I currently use a Mesa rig, A Mesa Basis M-2000 with a Powerhouse 1000 cab. I love the tone of my rig and it's versatility, but I'm always curious about other equipment...how would you say a Warwick rig would compare to Mesa? I know Ryan Martinie of Mudvayne switched over to Warwick amplification using a X-treme 10.1 and 2 410 Pro cabs from his Ampeg SVT4 Pro and 8X10 rig, so they have to be pretty decent for him to make that decision. I've always loved his tone.

OK...here you go - here are some pics of my Warwick rig.

I've since traded in the Pro FET 5.2 for another 5.1 as mentioned in my previous post, and I've also added a Warwick Corvette STD Bubinga Fretless to the family also:

Been checking out this thread...love the look of this rig, although when you put those cabs to the side, the W resembles McDonald's arches more than the Warwick logo ;)That stenciled W also reminds me a bit of Wilson tennis rackets and how they stencil the W on the strings of their rackets. Probably won't ever buy one, but it seems like Warwick is making a serious bid to become a player in amplification, and that's a good thing.

Nobody has a Hellborg rig yet, huh? That's the one I'd be most interested in. Kind of like a tube amp without tubes. The cabs seem a bit pedestrian for a rig like that, but I imagine they sound pretty good. Wish Bass Central would get a Hellborg rig for me to go try out.

The Profet is made in china,as are all the Warwick cabs,Hellborgs included.
Keep the 411.The 115 is a good ad on cab,but on it's own it has nowhere near the bass or definition as the 411.

just want to say that not all the warwicks are made in china !!
only profets amd the cabs ! xtreme, tubepath, hellborg amp and pre are made in germany! also the hellborg cabs are made in germany :) good to know, right ?:D
and I have an 411pro ...so I want to jointhe club :)

That might've BEEN true, but it's no longer the case.
Warwick's amps are made in Cina,as well as the cabs. The only amplification that's made in Germany is The Hellborg, while the Hellborg cabs are not.
