Right now, Blue Moon. Probably my favourite mass-produced chugging beer.

I just poured 6 gallons of Delerium Tremens clone down the drain this weekend. Not sure whether it had got infected or just overheated during fermentation but just sniffing it would dissolve the lining of your nose, way too many heavy alcohols. Not a common occurrence, but a very sad day when it happens.

I'm still recovering from Portsmouth Brewery's Kate the Great Stout. Awesome beer release day. Had a few friends come up with me to get as many bombers as possible. Sadly, even though we got there at 7, there were no more bottles for sale. Luckily we got it on tap. I started with a Bigfoot barleywine from Sierra Nevada. Not the best beer for 11:30 in the morning, but yesterday was the exeption. If anyone has had this beer, you know it is up there with the Dark Lord, Old Rasputin and Stone's RIS. If you guys do any trading try to get one. This years brew was a little sweeter but I'd imagine it'll be perfect in 2 years.

I don't think I've seen that one around here. I know it's brewed up in Detroit so I'm sure I can get it somewhere. Ohio's a weird state though. Yuengling is brewed 4 hours from my house in Pittsburgh but it's only available at an Air Force base in Dayton, no where else in Ohio. Sam Adams Triple Bock is brewed in Cincinnati but is not available anywhere in Ohio. Here's to hoping to find some Raging Bitch IPA.

Is it normal for Yuengling to smell and taste like weed? I had a 6-pack last month that was fine, but I had a 12-pack last week that tasted and smelled like...well...something chronic and dank.

Mendocino Brewing Co. White Hawk Select I.P.A.

Slightly bitter....malts and hops are a little dry on the palate. Leaves the mouth fast, not a long aftertaste. Great fruity/hop aroma. Another summer beer where the first taste would be a few good healthy gulps that are hard to stop and then finish off the sixer throughout the night.
I give it a 7 out of all the I.P.A. I have had.

I got myself a 12er of these and drinking one right now, it's pretty darn cheap and tastes really darn good from my experience. I think it's one of the few decent budget-beers that you can get in Ontario.

I am pretty sure Yuengling is not brewed in Pitt at all. I think you're looking for Pottstown.

He didn't say it was brewed in Pittsburgh; he said it was brewed four hours away from his home in Pittsburgh. Oddly enough, Pottsville is four hours away from Pittsburgh.

It's brewed in two places; Pottsville, PA, and Pensacola, FL. The barrels always cone from PA, and as such, taste the way Yuengling should. Often times the cans and bottles are brewed in Pensacola, and those totally taste like weed or dirt for some reason.

So to answer your question, yes. Unfortunately.

Indeed, southern Yuengling does taste dirty. I finally learned what people meant by the "dirty south" when I had a Yuengling in Tampa for the first time.

Got Blue Moon because it was on sale. not great, but I'm not a beer drinker generally, so it'll pass with food. Next time, I'll stick with something I know though.
