The Who have fired Zac Starkey, he was their drummer for almost 30 years. I saw Zac with them and he was great and perfect for that band. I think this is Daltrey's doing for Zac playing too loud, but my problem with it, is how they did it. They use the word fired in the press releases when most bands just say they have parted ways due to creative differences or something like that.. He won't be without a gig that's for sure, maybe Oasis, such a great drummer!

I just watched the Royal Albert Hall / Song is Over - there's got to be more to it than just that mess.

Drums too loud on that stage? Try turning them down in the monitors and / or mains.
Maybe they should have fired the monitor guy?

I was cringing already before Roger messed up - apparently he forgot the song and comes in early over an iconic bass fill - and Zach recovers nicely.

I couldn't sit through that - just too painful - (as was the Superbowl performance)

There was a time they were one of my favorite bands, but they haven't aged well for me.
Glad I saw them before John passed.

There comes a time.....

Shocking! When I saw them he crushed that gig, he was stellar.

This sad mess(not Zak)should have ended at least 20 years ago, if not earlier.

He's been using Roland vDrums - at least he was when I saw them recently . I quickly looked at some video of the RAH show - again, I think it is vDrums. So any loudness issues would be at the mixing board. Overplaying is a different issue. I did not hear overplaying on what I heard. Also ironic given how Keith played.

This opens the door for him joining Oasis ...

Dear lord, Zac was using VDrums?!?! Irrespective of whether that still managed to trigger Roger, that's a high crime and misdemeanor. Glad I never saw that.

The irony is that Zac was the best drummer The Who ever had. Ever. And that includes Simon Phillips ...who obviously can play rings around Zac, and Kenny, and Keith, but in terms of being The RIght Drummer For The Group just didn't have the mojo Zac mustered

...when he played a real (acoustic) drum kit, at least.

Pete, Roger, time to hang it up!
