What makes me grin? Any opportunity to reference "does it come with a box?" And of course the ever present solve most issues/questions/concerns with "fire the drummer" and/or "rage quit, it's the only way"
What gives me the biggest grin is so many willing to help someone solve a problem or make a purchase choice even if the question was just asked a week ago. Overall the brotherhood (& sisters also) of the TB community as a whole.

I still enjoy going over the exchanges and threads here that led to former Bass Player Magazine contributor Thomas Wictor writing his book "Ghosts and Ballyhoo: Memoirs of a Failed L.A. Music Journalist".
Other than that, I like seeing members that needed to be banned years ago finally get banned.

People enjoying and playing good music on their gear.
Dr. Cheese battling (or giving in to) his GAS demons.
Learning new shizzle.
And naked basses without even so much as a pickguard. Hubba hubba!

P, Tort, & Flats...the never ending solution. Nobody is the only reason I joined, just so I could read his ramblings at work and get a laugh. Have yet to find anything as consistently entertaining.
I'll chime in here. It's a pleasure getting to "know" some of you guys on here. I enjoy being around in the forums, rad people keep me reading and sometimes giving my two cents! I don't really know much of most of you guys, but I can definitely agree that I enjoy @slobake 's posts!
There a few things on TB that always make me smile:
- Whenever a new member starts one of their first threads, and @two fingers responds to their question, followed up with "Oh, and welcome to Talk Bass". Side note @two fingers, your use of "bassakwards" in the OP was brilliant.
- I really like @BassCliff's gig threads, but especially love his "Thank you for your indulgence" signature.
- I'm happy when @line6man posts in pickups and electronics threads, because I always learn something. I especially love it when I provide some info on those threads, and afterwards he will quote someone else to correct them, while skipping over my post... I guess I did something right.
- I love the "Rickenbacker sound for $20 threads". They're almost always identical to previous threads, with the same people posting in them, except there's always a new opinion or recommendation that arises. I also always smile when @Ric5 shows his modded basses with pickups in similar locations, and his 4-5 string conversions. I also love watching @4001's clip/cover video of him playing his Geddy Lee Jazz wired in stereo, which cops the sound surprisingly well.
- @wintremute's NAMM threads... He did one this year, but I'm pretty sure he did one last year as well, though I couldn't find it.
- I'm very appreciated of @CanadaNeal for rejuvenating my interest in bass (I got demotivated for several months), and I love seeing his covers and discussing his process in his Yes -Roundabout - Bass Cover - Added: Aerosmith - Dream On - Bass Cover thread.
I know there's a few others I forgot but I just caught a glimpse of the time and I gotta go... more to come.

I come for the info. Lots to be had. Lots of er, other stuff to sift through to find it. And I have noticed that the hanging cloud of exclusionary snobbery has lifted a good bit, which makes me very happy.
I've been reading TB since the early days of the Carl Thompson Bassboard (hi old chums!) but only threw my name in when I saw some classified I just had to speak up on. Now I'm stuck lol

What makes me grin -- the amount of time and tedious effort a lotta folks go through to discuss, praise, bash, showcase, dissect, vote for/against the least important aspect of a bass guitar...

Since I can't take anything here too seriously I'm actually entertained by some of the debates and arguments. I really don't participate in them but it can often be fun to observe as a spectator. 
Shut your mouth! ......er.....your.. .keyboard!!!
Depending on the band I much prefer my burst tone bass over my blue tone bass. My black tone bass is the best for metal by far.
I love the crazy stories people post in Band Management and the great and often hilarious responses. There's a book in there of "What Not to Do in a Band" if anyone wants to edit it all down.
Nobody's excited to see me? I see how it is guys...
Oh....a lady....AND from Carolina like me. You kidn???? You don't even have to say anything and you're automatically a favorite.
My favorite part is that we never take the advice given in the Band Management. Nobody EVER comes back and says "Thanks guys! I did what you said and it worked out great!"

Well... lots of things about TalkBass make me grin I guess. There's a handful of members here, whose posts I enjoy reading, I look forward to seeing the notification one of them put something up.
