I always grin when a new member comes in and, despite the 20 year history of this place, tries to buck the system and challenge the rules. Watching them get "corrected" is always fun, especially when it takes a few times..

Here's a lil sumptin else:
MIM Fenders are made in Mexico by Mexicans
Am Fenders are made in California by Mexicans
Now there are Masterbilt Fenders
So are the others built by apprentices?
I am not bashing but curious, Fender has made some good moves in their history, John Suhr AmDlxV active basses were great but while they had John under contract why didn't they do a passive version maybe getting Suhr to do something with windings? Also Fender had a 24 fret bass but didn't do it in 4 and 5 string versions.

I don't get it, does anyone really pay those prices?.
I'm not saying vintage gear doesn't Warrent a price but.....

To be fair, it appears to be a mint closet queen with original case and case candy. It's also sunburst and has a pearl pickguard, so perhaps it was a special run Fender did back then.

But even then, I don't think it's worth more than $1,500, but for those worn vintage Mustangs going for between $800 and $1,200.

Myself? I wouldn't pay more than $800 for a vintage mustang bass.

Meeting TB'ers face to face at GTGs, their gigs or mine, or at random or not so random other places. I lost count long ago, but I'm sure I'm well into the hundreds by now.
