Things that annoy you

When I asked to try them out myself, he mumbled something about their new policy.

With a policy like that they might as well just close the door, but then again there are some newbs who would buy w/o trying the equipment out first.
Ours has signs on the front saying "Come in & Play!"

The last time I was in the Phoenix store, the staff wouldn't even let you play anything.

I was there looking to buy a decent combo amp. The CSR had to go find their 'bass specialist', who then proceeded to pick up a Squier Jazz and demo the amps I was interested in by playing the same two slap riffs through each of them. He never let me play the bass or tweak any settings...I just stood there thinking to myself 'what a total dweeb this clown is'. When I asked to try them out myself, he mumbled something about their new policy. Needless to say I sarcastically thanked him for his 'expertise' and walked out of the store, never to have returned. Which sucks, because in the past I've had good experiences there, and actually bought my first two basses from them.

I've only had that happen once in my life. It was at a local shop in Darien IL that was notorious for shady dealings... in fact there was a bunch of drama surrounding them in the 90's because they were the national distributor for Trace Elliot until Gibson bought TE. Allegedly Gibson did some accounting that TE hadnt and figured out some shenanigans had been occurring. Regardless, Gibson yanked the product from them. Anywho, I went in there one day to buy a wah pedal and they had their "bass expert" (dont get me wrong, dude was good but the biggest clown youve ever seen) plug in a bass and start wildly slap soloing while making the most cringe worthy bass faces without breaking eye contact with me. He then stops and says "thats what a wah could do for you". I laughed so hard as we turned and walked out. Please picture the coifed mullet on this D-bag and know that his jeans were far too tight and his shirt far too unbuttoned. Picture Rex Manning after he let himself go.

They wound up downsizing that year.... then downsized again the next year.... then faded off into nothing. They were one of those bad shops.... trash talked other music stores, played funny with the numbers whenever you were trying to buy something.... all of it. Just shady dudes all around. The only thing that made them seem pro was that they got serious gear in there as opposed to most of the other local shops. In the 90's they were dealers for Baker, Curbow, Status, and a few others. They even had a Jackson Roswell Rhoads at one point.

When you go out the back door at 6:15pm to put the Chickens up for the night and upon returning finding it locked. Then you go to get the hide-a-key that you did not hide in an easy place because then someone could find it.

But then you yourself can not find it because it was too well hidden. So after 20 minutes of digging in the dark around the area it should be, you give up and return to the porch until The Wife returns home at 9:00pm finding you dumb A*$ freezing cold on the porch swing.

Glad I grabbed a sweater before heading out.

I found that funnier than I should have!..........

On a similar note....We were invited round to the neighbors place for a drink tonight....

We turned up on time, rang the bell, no answer....

Froze our boobies off on their porch for ten minutes until my wife decided to take a peek through their window...

They had obviously decided to get a head start on the booze as they were both spark out on their sofa with an empty bottle of vodka wedged between them....

We decided that a tactical withdrawal was the best tactic....:D

Monday evening, I went outside to change the time on the clock in my truck. I locked the door to my house in case I decided to go anywhere. I messed with the clock, which refused to cooperate, got out of my truck and locked the door. My keys were in the truck. My wife was gone, but soon would return, so I took a seat on the porch swing to await her return. The mosquito population seemed to appreciate that. Annoying? Yes. Able to save 15% or more on my car insurance? No. Those commercials are annoying, too.

Yesterday, the wife and I decided to drive to the local big box store to pick up a countertop for a house we’ve been working on to sell. As I stepped out the door, I realized that I forgot to drop off the yard waste that I had in the bed of the truck so we decided to postpone the trip to the store until I got back from the dump.

I realized that I forgot to grab the keys to the truck, so I went back to get them from the drawer where I keep them. They weren’t there.

It dawned on me that I had been carrying them around over the weekend and they kept getting in the way when I tried to get anything out of my pocket so I took them out and laid them down. As I did this, I said to myself, “This is not where I normally put these keys, but since I am not close to where I normally put them, I will remember laying them down here!”

I do not remember where that place is.

Welcome to my world. I have put numerous things down in places where I will know exactly where they are. Those places always vanish from my memory and, possibly, into another dimension, (dementia?).
