Reactions: The Owl
In 1968-69 I was 9-10 years old. On random Saturday mornings my dad would drive myself and my best friend to San Francisco International Airport and drop us off in front of the terminal.

My friend's dad was an air traffic controller. We would walk around the airport all by ourselves until about noon when we would make our way near the tower to meet his dad and he would buy us lunch.

After lunch his dad went back to the tower and we were on our own again until his shift was over and we would ride home with him.

At the same age (9-10) my dad would drop the two of us off at Candlestick Park for a Giant's game. Then he would sit in a bar listening to the game on the radio and pick us up afterwards at a designated spot.

I hitchhiked across the country twice from Ma to CA in 1969 with no problems at all, once with a bass on my back, sometimes alone sometimes with other travelers. I would give anything for those times to come back, was an innocent era. Anything I've posted has been from the 60's.

Of course, experiences varied with race.

That's one thing that hasn't completely gone away.

I wrestled a bear at the Philadelphia Civic Center when I was 16. The line of guys to do it was pretty interesting. Guy behind me had, apparently, also wrestled an orangutan and boxed a kangaroo. Some other stuff I think, but what I remember is him telling me that the kangaroo "boxed" him for a few minutes, then leaned back on it's tail and kicked him. He flew a dozen feet or more into a wall. He said that hurt.

Victor the wrestling bear, managed by Gorgeous George. Photo is not me.

I seem to remember that shortly after the movie "Semi-Pro" was released, the bear that Will Ferrell wrestles turned on its trainer, and literally ripped his face off.

our fav segment was handi-man, def not cool by todays standards, and men on men, but always laughed my butt off
Especially when they did "Men on Football," where the character played by Damon Wayans said his favorite NFL matchup was "the Oilers and the Packers.":wideyed::jawdrop::roflmao:
