Using Pledge furniture polish to clean your entire instrument.
Pledge furniture polish? I went the Full Monty with Johnson Floor Wax, on my early ‘65 Jazz Bass, still have the bass and the wax is probably still on it.
Hi Goatee220
Back then?
greetings

I got number 30 in mine. Got drafted in '72. But due to a knee injury in football in '69, they declared me IV-F after examination by a specialist.344 in the very first lottery. 326 in the first one that actually counted.
Now you're talking. Gimme dat tuck 'n' roll.
Agreed. Certain types of humor don't translate well to the internet because there is no inflection of voice or facial expression to act as cue.I think this post went south with the phrase, "How come we made the best music of the century?"
I don’t mean any disrespect but nah. I’m grown, man. I can call it like I see it. I also clarified so if anybody has a problem with what I said then they just have a problem. This is a thread for lighthearted reminiscing, apparently. I agree with you 100%, but this is not the thread to say that.
If you two clowns wanna come over here and discuss how backward Ireland is compared to the States,

Like they are looking for a big bowl of granola to crap in.
Four words: Estes model rocket igniters. Not having access to gunpowder, it was easier for us to get magnesium strips from the chem lab.
I'm of the opinion that every generation believes the music they grew up with is the best music, because it's inextricably linked with their youth and all the things that go along with that. There's no winning any argument about this because it's a subjective thing for every single person.I don’t mean any disrespect but nah. I’m grown, man. I can call it like I see it. I also clarified so if anybody has a problem with what I said then they just have a problem.
I have a strong distaste for the sentiment that “good music” only happened in such and such era. That’s just not true. It shows a lack in that persons musical journey. I say it like this: you might not like Mexican food. That’s fine. But when you say “I don’t like Mexican food therefore it sucks” then you’re just dumb.
I also hate P basses, burst, tort pickgaurds, and play only 5 strings. Don’t throw rocks at me.![]()
And a fan. Instant multi-colored strobe light. This was our lighting system. A Christmas tree color wheel.

See, this is where things get problematic.because it was truly incredible.
If there is something that was definitely drilled into my head as a kid in school during the 80s, it is that everything cool that our parents and older relatives enjoyed will kill us.We weren't afraid of catching a venereal disease that was fatal.

Just scroll over the drama and enjoy the original postI think this post went south with the phrase, "How come we made the best music of the century?" I think without that, this thread would have been interpreted as the harmless little lark Paula intended. Seen Paula's posts for a couple years now, she seems like a good and decent person without any ill intentions, and she's justifiably proud of what she's done in her life. But man, that little phrase, for all this post's good intentions, makes the whole post come across as one of those "You kids suck, we were so much better than you" posts that we see so often on here. Sorry but it does. Maybe if it had been phrased like, "How come we were able to make such good music?" without the element of putting down the other music people made in the century, it would have been better received.
Just my opinion on it.
