I had a few pairs of jeans with those on the knees.
Depended. If they were for just messing around the neighborhood. Like playing football and such they went outside. If I might wear them in public we made the hole look as good as possible and put it on the inside.
Same here. With four of us kids (three boys), mom had to stretch the budget as much as possible.
I haven’t bought that in years, used to buy it often.
After ironing the patches on, my mother would also sew them to the Jean's to make the patch last longer.
Public access cable shows, low budget, ineptly produced, especially the cringey local talent displays. Awkward, creepy, SNL or SCTV parodies couldn’t come close to this actual absurdity…

We had one on our local channel, TCTV, called Hard Roxx that was like a local MTV Headbangers Ball. Instead of Riki Rachtman it was a couple of my buddies. We'd go to shows in town and record them then they'd play them on Hard Roxx among other things. The TCTV folks started asking us if we had rights to do that. We didn't know how to answer that, so they took us off the air.
The other show we had that was actually quite rad was 'Funny Guy on the Prowl'. A local guy who owned a business selling fine goods for men would drive around town talking to people and other funny stuff. He was a charismatic guy, so folks were drawn to him to begin with, so the show was good.

The precursor to YouTube and TikTok, but with a much narrower and more localized audience. Now millions of people can view anybody's low budget, ineptly produced, cringey, awkward and creepy stuff anytime, anywhere. Lucky us.

Yeah! And all that old stuff from all over(like StS)is available on YT. That one was from NYC of course, never heard of it, but it became something of a thing to check out, like Jan Terri or Mark Gormley videos, let alone cringe compilations drawn from FB or even MS video postings.The precursor to YouTube and TikTok, but with a much narrower and more localized audience. I even found a public access show from my hometown(after I moved)focusing on alternative art and music, so many people I knew, including the host, were on it, a few of them are dead now. It was awful at times in its own way, otherwise a bit of a hoot.
