I didn't know there were any left! Must be third- or fourth-tier bowls.

The first one I remember was the USF&G Sugar Bowl. I remember thinking to myself, "What the heck is USF&G?" Turns out to be a now-defunct insurance company...so it's another thing you don't see anymore..

I read this post and it took about ten seconds for the name of this to pop into my head, it surprised me more than it will you. (I had one of these too.)

It was called a "Give a Show Projector". Mine was from around 1963 or so and it had slides from "Mister Magoo", "Rocky and Bullwinkle", "Dick Tracy", "Huckleberry Hound" and others.

It stuns me that I remembered this.

Cool. I grew up with an old manual treadle style Singer (learned "self defense sewing" to keep my favorite jeans out of the garbage). I actually much preferred the treadle, so much easier than the electric controllers (which tended to go from 0/grind to "run off the end of the cloth and tangle all the thread" in about 1/32" of pedal movement). Was heartbroken when my mom upgraded to a modern machine.

Thanks for reminding me what those single slide strips were from that someone else posted :). I also had a give-a-show.

That's not however the 3D thing I was talking about. It looked like a view master, though the pictures slid through from top to bottom. The pix I had were from a cat woman episode where they had to escape a spiked room that was closing in on them. At least I think I remember it being spiked...

It was also a viewer, not a projector.
