In the 50s & early/mid 60s it was my favorite eating place in The City.

Yes, being sent to your room for the day was a horrible punishment. Of course, there was not TV, phone, or computer. You maybe had a radio and some books or magazines. Our rule was head home when the street lights come on.

Ours as well, and if you didn't there was some part of a tree that was awaiting your arrival :) for those who do not know what I am talking about it looks like this ha ha ha and your parents would light up your backseat with it. I always joked my mom would just being getting out of prison if they had the same rules today back then.

Mine, too. LOL. But she had a cruel twist. We had to go fetch the tree part ourselves.

ha ha ha you weren't alone my friend I did as well, Did your mom ever graduate to hot wheel tracks as mine did? man that left a welt. Mom was the weapon person but my Dad would just jump up and start to take off his belt and we all head for the hills, He never ever hit any of us his fright tactics worked every time. We were 3 boys close in age getting into trouble 24-7 not like today's stuff when I mean trouble I am talking broke the neighbors window simple stuff not coming home on time curfew was most of the time the cause of my problems the street light came on and you could see and get a couple more stick ball innings in :)

Hot Wheels were not around when I was that age, but my dad did the same thing. And I, too, had two brothers.
