Me too. I still have a Fisher Stereo Amplifier/Receiver and Speakers.

And a collection of classic vinyl I bought early 90s when CD-drunk L.A. record stores were selling them for nickel a piece.
I paid 10 cents for my copy of Exile on Main St. 'cause it was a double.

I still have some stuff from the 80's and now my kids use it. Denon amp, pioneer eq and tuner, nad cd, klipsch lascalas, still sounds great!

Good times. I used to stuff cassette tapes in all the pockets of my motorcycle jacket before hitting parties, the better to jack, then commandeer, the beats...

Indeed a great one, although JVC...

I can't recall if this was THE box, but JVC was legendary in '80s hip-hop and funk.

Their cassettes, along with Maxell, were THE ones for mix tapes.

I remember using TEAC (the ones with the reel-to-reel look) for 4-track recording, and TDK and Maxell for mixdown and mix tapes.

I'm amazed that back in the 70s, we could run all over the streets (and NY no less) shooting each other with theses things- with no fear at all that anyone was going to think they were real, and kill us. My oh my... how the world has changed....

YES! JVC was what I was thinking in place of TDK. Thanks for the flashback. TDK and Maxell. I'm trying to remember which tape came with the yellow/red print on the casing...I think it was TDK. I know Maxell was Red/Grey.

They still sell them, but the they are now a bright orange color with a red plug in the barrel, as if that's going to stop an "incident" if kid just happens to be "reaching". Kids today would crap their pants at some of the cap guns and toy guns we used to have.

Bottom pic was the one I remember, with the top pic being the ones the rich kids had, except those always eventually "popped" for some reason...probably from being passed around and dubbed too many times.
