wow really I haven't seen one it years used to selling them in the checkout line of grocery stores when I was a kid now you need to go to a hobby shop most likely cost 10x more than in the 60's
Used to get the gliders for a nickel or a dime, and the rubber band powered ones for up to a quarter. Since we've had at least 10x inflation since the '60s, I'm not surprised to find them for up to $2.00, and have purchased some for my grandkids (and myself).
I know that many of the inflation calculators say 7x or so, but when you start to compare things like candy bars ($.05 then, for larger than the "standard" size which now sells for $.79), calculators ($300 for a TI 4-function when my dad bought one for engineering in 1969, and you can now get a solar powered version for less than $5.00) you begin to see the problem in calculating inflation. I've found that a lot of items (gasoline, for instance) are at approximately 10 times what they cost me in the 1969-1973 time frame. Oddly enough, I actually make LESS than 10 times what I did then as a beginning metal worker. But I pay a lot higher percentage of my income in taxes (FICA, Federal, State) and the sales tax I pay has nearly doubled from 4% then to 7.5% now. So despite the passage of nearly 50 years, and the multiple years of education I've paid to obtain, my usable income is actually lower than it was when I was a 19-year-old working a summer job.
Somehow, that level of disposable income is something I don't expect to see again, either!

You got that right Marcus those days of your money and consumer pricing that would actual equal a true value aren't coming back anytime soon. Now it is just marketing gimmicks and subliminal messaging that has you paying a lot more for crap you will never use.

Anyone remember Klick Klacks? They were made of freakin glass! Brutal! Some kids could get 'em cranking at high velocity. I was always afraid of 'em.

Edit: I just did some research and apparently they weren't glass, although that's how I remember them. Apparently they were acrylic. Still brutal, nonetheless.

Anyone remember Klick Klacks? They were made of freakin glass! Brutal! Some kids could get 'em cranking at high velocity. I was always afraid of 'em.

They were banned at my elementary school. Quickly.
