You looked at the ground to watch, so, "Move your can off the coffee table, it is in the way of the T.V.!"

Then when the screen went green it served as the stand for the new black and silver plastic cased T.V.

Then when that screen turned green it served as the T.V. stand for a small 13inch all black plastic tube T.V.
Making a three T.V. stack that was now at eye level.

Looked like this.

• I like silver TVs
• I still have two 13" tube tvs in the basement
• LCD tvs seem to handle my channel surfing habits much better

I always wondered why those console TVs had handles on the bottom that did nothing since there were no drawers that opened. The handle were purely for decorative purposes.

Yup, to make it look more like a "real" piece of furniture. Utterly useless.

I was going to mention public pay telephones, but they are all over down here in south Texas.
I'm not sure if they all work, but I've seen quite a few in the month we've been here.

Had that exact bottom desk (with the double pencil slots) for 3rd through 5th grade.

And without fail, there was always one fat kid who couldn't quite fit into them. He or she ended up getting the special desk with the separate chair. Kids could be pretty mean back then...just glad I wasn't fat during my school years. (Saved that for middle age!)
