Had that exact bottom desk (with the double pencil slots) for 3rd through 5th grade.

And without fail, there was always one fat kid who couldn't quite fit into them. He or she ended up getting the special desk with the separate chair. Kids could be pretty mean back then...just glad I wasn't fat during my school years. (Saved that for middle age!)

I didn't fit either, but I was skinny as a rail back then - just too tall for my age (cleared 6' when I was 12). I got picked on for being the geek...

Pretty sure I had this toy about 1963, vivid memories of it as I have a pic of my youngest sister and the toy under the Christmas tree.

^ That one reminded me of a space-themed toy I had in the late 60's...Major Matt Mason.
Had the Space Station, the Lunar Crawler, and a couple other accessories. Tons of fun for a 7 or 8 yr-old kid!

This device always puzzled me. I don’t get the point. Maybe the fact that we can make boing inanimate interiors of mundane household objects visible is its own reward. Maybe they were thinking of this:
