I had this guy, a SLR camera that took 126 film cartridges and flashcubes, along with regular flash. Quite blinding alright.
Wow...126 film in a SLR? I remember Ricoh but don't remember that.

Here's another one that was like the sneaker thing when I was a kid. Television ads made us REALLY want this:

And I've said this jokingly in the past, but I think there's a lot of truth to the fact that this kind of thing is at the root of my GAS. As an adult, who can afford to buy a Rickenbacker, I'm buying a Rickenbacker. And a Fender Jazz bass. And a Musicman Bongo. And any other freaking bass I want

Yup, the “Rosebud Syndrome.”
I think that many of our adult desires and behaviors can be traced back to what we had or didn’t have as youths. How often do you hear “I have wanted XYZ since i was a kid and NOW i have it.”
I certainly recognize that in myself. I want many of the things i wanted when I was a lad and I often consider getting something that I had as a kid.
