Things You Don't See Anymore Part 3

I blew out my flip flop, Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, had to cruise on back home...

but there's booze in the blender and soon it will render that frozen concoction that helps me hang on

... From back when it was just fun to be a kid and saturday morning entertainment didn't have to contain a moral, social or scholastic lesson.

Back in the day, when Jerry the mouse smashed Tom the cat in the face with a frying pan, or when bugs bunny stuck his finger in the barrel of Elmer Fudds gun causing it to blow up in Fudds face, or when El Cabong wacked he bad guy over the head with a guitar it was funny. No one ever really took it as anything but silly slapstick mindless humor... It was a welcome escape from reality.

Until all the psychologists and lawyers and doo gooders got involved and "fixed" the horrible violent mindless wast of time cartoons by replacing them with constructive learning opportunities for kids. And guess what, the kids eventually became less and less entertained with the "correct" cartoons and within a couple of decades every last one of them lost so much viewership they were pulled off the air. I believe I read recently that the last main network (ABC, NBC, CBS) Saturday morning cartoon was aired in December of 2014.

Those are some of my all time favorite cartoons. I used to look forward to watching cartoons on Saturday mornings when I was a kid and I still enjoy watching the old cartoons. Interestingly, some of the jokes were geared toward adults (e.g., Rocky & Bullwinkle) but I did not get that until I was older.
