Does anyone do an open face roast beef sandwich anymore?

Yes sir.
Quite a few diners up around this way have them on the menu. Turkey too, which is a favorite of mine when the gravy is done right.

What we don't see around HERE anymore are DINERS 
Seach google maps for "diner" around my tiny Canadian town and you get exactly ONE actual diner (and they close all winter!) - but seven chain restaurants.

Maybe the only thing I miss about New Jersey is the pork roll breakfast sandwiches at the train station. Can't think of much else I miss there. Oh wait yes there is, a real bagel and belly lox for breakfast with an el mondo grosso black coffee. We're off to the fun factory!
The only open face sandwiches I have had for years are the ones I make. In the case of gravy being done right, there are times I will omit the roast beef (or turkey) and have just bread and gravy.
Welp, come on up and see us. Nearly every little town around these parts has a diner. We can try a few. I already know which one I think will be the best and it's barely a 45 minute drive.
