We always got scolded by the adults for watching TV up close. Something about it'll ruin your vision. To this day, I don't know if there's anything to it.

I knew someone in college whose nickname was Chumley. But I also knew someone in college whose nickname was Bam Bam.
Don Adams of Get Smart fame and the voice of Inspector Gadget was also the voice of Tennessee Tuxedo.

I still remember the words to the theme song.:
When I was young my mother used a wringer washer to wash clothes.
I don't remember for sure but I think her machine had a hand crank wringer attachment with wooden rollers.
No dryer. Clothes were hung outside most of the year, and in the basement when it was so cold that the clothes would freeze instead of dry.
The one below is definitely more modern than the one I remember being in our basement.

Bumper jacks. Oh, we might still see them in junk piles or in the trunk of vintge autos but they certainly are long dead with new cars. With today's plastic bumpers, these certainly can not be used.
My gramma had one like that, but she finally got a more modern one when she moved to the city. I was young then…
