Just reminded me of something I hadn't thought about for sixty years... You know you are old when you can remember these old tube testers at the corner drug store.

Almost 50 years ago I went into my corner drugstore and asked about that machine which was no longer there. The guy was incredulous and said
"how old ARE you".
 
A house we lived in while I was in high school and college had one with intercoms in every bedroom. Our parents would call us down to dinner with it. It had a radio, but we never used that feature. It was still working when my parents moved out 10 years later.
