The "multi head shower fixture" I used to get this confused with, was the Neural Neutralizer.

The was used on Dagger Of The Mind (9th episode, Season 1 of Star Trek). In retrospect, it looks more like a light fixture. Kirk was good for some memorable screams. (But nobody beats Chekov in that department))
