Things You've Learned by Postings on TB

Things You've Learned Posting on TB

Never start a new thread if the subject has been talked about before

And then when you bring an old thread back to life you will be made fun of

If you play anything other than a fender p-bass with flats and a tort guard then there is something wrong with you

all Rickenbackers are literally falling apart from the factory

Wood matters

Wood doesn't matter

and finally

CARROTS ROCK!!!

...playing overwrought melody lines outside the bass clef, on an instrument with more strings than a zither, makes you an objectively better bass player than someone who tastefully sits in the groove with a four string

7. Many of us hide bass gear, not porn from our wives.

Ha, I don't actually hide my bass gear, but am often leary telling her about it. Even though the funds come from my wife-authorized music slush fund. It still feels like it's some shameful addiction I should have the decency to hide if I can't quit.

1.) if I'm gassing for something real bad, I can find enough people on here who say my current gas item is the best thing they ever paid full retail for.

2.) When I'm done gassing with that item and my gas turns in favor of another item that I've spent two weeks researching on YouTube, I can come to TB and follow guide #1. Repeat ad nauseam.

Have you ever lost your mind for a second while looking at a video of let's say a particular bass you want and the video isn't very clear and you move the mouse (or your finger) as if you had the power to manipulate the camera angle so that you could get a better look at the body? That reminds me. I've done that on other types of videos too.

I've learn that the only reason to play music or learn the bass is to earn money in a cover band.

I've learn that TB is very rock centric and very USA centric

I've learn that people don't know how to read or any music theory and are proud of it because knowledge is bad for creativity

People will learn something only if it helps them get money in their cover band
