This thing got shared in some circles and even thought it's in German, there are wiring diagrams and schematics that could be useful plus it has an English dictionary.

It's a 500 page pdf document with A LOT of diagrams for most pickups and electronics that shows exactly how to wire everything together. I see Squier stuff, Rickenbacker, Fender, you name it.

Would anyone be interested in that?
Also, what would be the best way of uploading that somewhere so that all of you can see it?

I attached it as a file to this post but maybe there is some kind of a pdf host so it could be viewed easier than this?

Thanks :)

Wow! That is an amazing resource! And it's understandable, even in German. Clear, well drawn wiring diagrams.

I had no problem downloading it. Thanks for sharing it.

Glad someone found it useful :)

It's not that useful to me personally, because I don't do wiring on Fenders. But it will be very useful to the general audience here in the Pickups & Electronics forum. Owners who come in here with questions, trying to troubleshoot/repair/modify various models of Fenders.

We appreciate you digging it up. Maybe someone here will transfer it over into the Wiki section?

Glad you found Cadfael's incredible collection. My respect for his dedication and knowledge to compile all of that.

He's a member of the forum, but I haven't seen him around in awhile. Or maybe I hang in the wrong forums LOL.

This thread, post #8, from 2013 seems to be his first post in here. Tells a bit about himself and why he did it.

It would be "Yuts buss", but we do use English pronunciation (probably with some accent) for most things in popular music anyway...

Thanks for correcting me. That comment was tongue in cheek.

I watched a lot of German TV shows with sub titles and I notice that they use a lot of English songs in the sound tracks. Also noticed that in the dialogs, the English phrases are pronounced perfectly, very little accent. Plus to me, no different from how Jamaicans or Trinidad or Singaporeans folks speak or use English. Language evolves and changes and a big percentage of English is German origin anyway. :D

It would be "Yuts buss",
That is a useful rendering of pronunciation through spelling if a very open pronunciation of English 'short U' is assumed. This is true, AFAIK, of contemporary southern England English, where e.g. "cuts" sounds very, very close to German "Katz" (and to a certain southern Italian expletive...):
not so much with other dialects of English, where 'short U' is central (front to back) but mid-height-ish (US), or even near-back and near-closed (northern England, where I believe "fussy" rhymes with, well...), and other vowels are closest to "continental A".
Back to my example above, "cats" is said very similarly to German "Katz" in the North of England (where 'short A' is not a front vowel, but more central); same as "cots" in North America (no lip-rounding in 'short O' for most speakers, and a more-central-than-back articulation for at least part of them).

[Same reason why, throughout the Anglosphere, three spellings exist of the colloquial word for "female parent" ('Mum', 'Mam' and 'Mom'), but the pronunciations by their respective users are less different than one would expect.]
but we do use English pronunciation (probably with some accent) for most things in popular music anyway...
"Tschatz Bass"? ;)
(j/k: Italians are waaay worse, in this case - we basically pronounce it "Fend-air Jets" - and others... ^^')

Thank you @Katoosie for spreading the link - and your kind words!

I was very ill and can't work anymore. Have problems to concentrate hard. So, there won't be many updates of the PDF anymore.

Yes; I wrote a classical whodunnit / detective story. Unusual: The inspector is a raccoon; Inspector Cadfael who smokes self rolled cigarettes (not unusual in Germany), wears a trench coat like Columbo and a hat like Theo Kojak or Inspector Cluseau. Inspector Cadfael is a bit clumsy and strange things happen all the time. 2/3 of the persons in the novel are members of the German Link Removed bass forum. The is an Owl, two dogs, a horse, a vampire and many other strange people. After a short time most people don't search for the owl murderer anymore but just enjoy the funny writing or situation (like when the Inspector has to go to the anual check up at the vet).
In the first novel "Inspector Cadfael and the owl murderer" a missing black Fender Precision bass with black pickguard and the number 0666 plays a major role. Who stole this special bass and where is the bass?

I pause at the moment but there will be a second Inspector Cadfael novel, "Inspector Cadfael and the Ghosts of the Past". This time a Fender Jazz Bass in Candy Apple Red from late 1963 (three knob)will play a major role...
