...This is why I'm glad I play BASS ;D

Hey, cut the guys a little slack, it's always shocking, impressive, and surprising when a pretty girl plays bass, and I'm a bassist too! :p But it's also one of the most awesome things in the world.

And being a chick bass player i want this shirt: Invalid Link Removed i love chicks playing bass... but then again, i love chicks anyway :-)

and the stereotype i see for bass players is the little guy who's bass is almost as big as he is.

True story: I was in my fav music store to check out a used MM StingRay the owner held back for me. As I checked it out some younger people enterd the showroom and listened to me playing as I started to do a Primus - tune. Yeah, I like Les Claypool. So after a while, when I checked the bass and changed the sound on the amp one of the kids looked at me and told me: "Man, you sound like the one gitarist with that deep sound!" This boys waited for theyr guitar-lessons to get started, all about 15 years old. No one told me that I looked good, no one told me that I had a big guitar - but I told the kids that there are some other instruments in a band - like the bass. The one that started talking to me is now my student - I think for 3 years now. He now plays one of my used Fender Precisions in a Iron Maiden cover - band.

If some guy tells me I'm cute, he better start running. I mean it!

I dunno if I look like a bassist. What does one look like? I have a salt and pepper ponytail half-way down my back, long goatee, and bushy moustache. I do look like I ride a Harley, though, and I do in fact ride one. I love it, just like I love playing bass.

Played a party last week,while
I was wearing a black english bowler hat(yep bald as can be)...young kid walks by me with his mom and says" Mom look Odd job plays bass."
wasn't sure if I should be impressed that kid knew what a bass was or the fact that he knew his James Bond hench men.

for the record noone has ever accused me of being cute...I did get the girl once because I was the "bass player who uses his fingers"

I once quit a band because I got fed up with the lack of respect for the role of the bass from the other bandmembers. And that with a drummer who wasn't steady and a rythm-guitarist who couldn't count.
Don't have to tell you guys how hard it is, playin' with musicians like that. Upon my leaving the band decided that the rythm guitarplayer would switch to bass.
A few months later I ran in to him and we started chatting. He then told me that playin the bass was much harder than he'd anticipated! :D:D:D:D:D

I'm glad I'm a bassplayer. I'm so glad, I'm so glad, I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glaaaaad!!!
