Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Rounds

Hi Campbems!

The silks on the Superalloys are a darker red.

They're tone is very balanced, but they're not a super bright string fresh out of the package. Their tone is slightly warm, but they still have very good definition across the set, good clarity, but I wouldn't personally classify them as overly bright. Like I posted previously, their lifespan is amazing. I would still be using them, but I prefer strings with higher tension. Not to say the Superalloys felt floppy, just not as much tension as I like.

I hope this helps.

Does anyone know if the long scale set works with 35" scale. They claim to be 34" but might work. What's the actual length ball to silk on these? Thanks in advance...

Yes. I use the 'JF345' set in both my Rick Turner Electroline 5-strings. (35" scale)

Good to know, do you happen to be able to shoot me a measurement from the ball to the silk?

Here ya' go... for whatever reason, TI winds the silks longer on E and B strings. Anyway, 37" and 38" respectively. I checked both basses to be sure, and they are within small fractions of being the same.

Thanks I just wanted to be sure before I order the expensive 5 string set that they wouldn't be too short for my 35" scale G Gould. Thanks it sounds like they will work!

BTW does anyone have a good line on where to buy these? JR 345? Lowest I've found online is a seller in England via Amazon will ship them for $88 but it takes 3-4 weeks. Everywhere else online is $100. Can anyone point me in a better direction?

So I got a set from Bass Strings Online, best price and fast shipping. Put them on last week replacing the steel set that came on the bass. I'm never going back. So much more articulate, and the feel is just amazing. Even slapping and aggressive playing is no problem. My setup is very low and I had no issues. They held tune great and the intonation was perfect. Worth every penny IMO.

They're not for everyone. One must have THE TOUCH to play these strings. ;) :D :bassist:
