Flat Light looks good on my phone, tablet and PC. The thick border between posts is a must for me and was the main reason I was using Retro. The sticky navigation bar is great. I'll stick with Flat Light as my default on all three devices.

not sure what the deal is with all the text being in greyscale tones. The brightest white used for headlining and whatnot is too bright against the black background. If I turn down screen brightness to stop it flaring it dulls everything else too much.

If I understand correctly, having grey links doesn't work for you, because you need to turn down the brightness because of the regular text?

I think the white text is working ok for most folks... perhaps I can find a different color to style the links with, so that they aren't lost on dimmer displays.

Not really. The full white heavy type is so bright everything else is dulled down with the brightness turned down, but grey links are legible. The blue scale worked fine if a bit gaudy.

A week of using it. I like it.
Here come the complaints. :smug:
When clicking on a Thread that has been already read or the link in the Alerts, it will often land three or more post up from the last one read.
Instead of using the Quick Nav I click on the General Forums that is just above the Thread title. This gives me the forums larger with less to scroll down on than Quick Nav. Still prefer the Forum pull down, but this works.
I forgot about the old style so I guess this is a keeper.

On the thread bumping up a few posts I don't think there's much he can do about it, it happens on the old style as well. It's because the interface loads and puts you in the right spot when it finishes loading, any pictures loaded after that point bump the posts down. It's not as noticeable in the older heavier styles because many of the pictures start to load, reserving their space, before the interface is loaded, since the lite styles load faster less of the picture space is reserved when it goes to the first unread post.

I've added a poll to this thread. In the interest of giving TalkBass guests and newbies the fastest, most reliable experience on phones/tablets, I'm leaning towards making FLAT WHITE the default TalkBass style. What do you all think?

All current styles (current TB Default, Retro, Social, and DARK) will remain in the style chooser, if you prefer to use them.

Many have asked about device-detection, and if we can make FLAT WHITE the default for mobile only. While this is possible, I'm not sure how to do it, while at the same time respecting user-set style preferences. I'll continue to look into it.

I like the 'flat dark' theme but I wish fonts were be a bit smaller. It looks zoomed in on a desktop. I like where it is going but I'm reverting to 'dark' for now.
