Thoughts on this bass?

Looks like it was caught in a fire.

That bass is an atrocity. Many non-original parts, and it's overpriced to boot. The worst part is the overly wordy description. The more BS you see in a description, the more rubbish the product they're trying to sell is. This is my favorite -

" ***I will not take the neck off so you can see the stamps, there is no way in hell this thing isn’t authentic***"

Authentic?? It's clearly NOT authentic. Aftermarket wiring harness, aftermarket pickups, aftermarket bridge. My God, what an idiot!

I like the update. He seems to say that he doesn't need to sell it but has dropped the price 40% over 6 months.

Edit: In looking at a photo of the headstock, I wonder if you are right about a fire and that is what I am seeing. It's odd that the damage appears to be more on the neck rather than the body.

Someone worked very hard but not very intelligently to make the bass look old. The cigarette burn on the headstock is just sad because while on a guitar a cigarette will stick there on a bass it won't. People used to do this to give guitars mojo. Nothing about this thing looks right to me but it is such a mess that maybe it is what they say it is. Not a Fender expert by any means.

Somewhat, but it had issues in the pics that were/are concerning. I dig the black body/black pickguard with the maple board and pearl block inlays.
got it! thanks!

given the condition (via the pics) the price alone would be a deterrent for me, personally (+ the fact that it's fretted :) ). but folks look for '"mojo" in old, worn-out, junk pieces. IME: cheap crap is better than expensive crap. :D

Hi guys :) You have no idea! :laugh:

the third pic seems to show water damage. Will someone tell me if I am right or wrong?

Somebody started to cultivate magic mushrooms! :wacky: That' s the real thing because...

I'd be afraid of catching leprosy.
I think I'd rather handle an armadillo.

Some minor parts are aftermarket :D but...

This is "The authentic Gunkmachine"! You can' t take the neck off without a mojo hand! :laugh:

And gloves! :laugh::roflmao:
