Thoughts on this bass?

The poster asked the question to mock the seller and had no intention of considering buying it. Apparently you are not a seller.

I'm a seller. The trick is not to willfully embellish your sale or use an aggressive sale pitch to try and get something shifted. The seller here fails on two counts. Buyers seem to have a 6th sense for desperation.

If someone absolutely has to have a 70's Jazz and doesn't have much money, this might be the only ticket. They'd be much better off saving their change until they could buy something not worn out, trashed and non-original.

And yeah, the seller is a tool who deserves any crap he's being given.

Looks like it was caught in a fire.

That bass is an atrocity. Many non-original parts, and it's overpriced to boot. The worst part is the overly wordy description. The more BS you see in a description, the more rubbish the product they're trying to sell is. This is my favorite -

" ***I will not take the neck off so you can see the stamps, there is no way in hell this thing isn’t authentic***"

Authentic?? It's clearly NOT authentic. Aftermarket wiring harness, aftermarket pickups, aftermarket bridge. My God, what an idiot!

Pretty much everything I wanted to say, right here. Jazz Basses are not rare; there will be another one - and probably a nicer one - along shortly. All of the reasons anyone would pay for a "vintage" Jazz Bass are absent in that one, anyway. If you have your heart set on paying that much for one? You'd be much, much better off buying a new one...

Exactly. Just think of what you could buy new for that money.

You know - that really sucks. If you were a person selling something, how would you like this kind of crap? Really funny. Most of you are not interested in that bass and wouldn't consider buying it but it's so worthwhile ragging on someone else's attempt to sell something (regardless of what you personally think of it or his copy). Like anyone cares what you think about it.
I understand where you are coming from, and I was totally kidding and I did not email him. But, I don't like the seller discouraging people from asking questions either. The add is condescending at best. I think if he/she is going to be a dick about receiving questions about something that might be a huge purchase for somebody else, that's pretty uncool.

Growing up i couldn’t afford Fenders but i looked at a lot of badly worn examples close to my price range, which is why i don’t care for bound and blocked necks. This bass reminds me of some of those old Fenders i looked at back then.

Am I safe to assume it's difficult then, to handle an armadillo ?
The potential for the spread of leprosy between armadillos and humans is extremely low, although as many as 40 new cases of leprosy in the United States per year seem to be associated with exposure to infected armadillos.
(That's the nine-banded armadillo...the only one indigenous to the United States. So if you want to handle a pink-fairy armadillo or a giant armadillo, go right ahead!)
