Thread hoarders!

I've just realized that I'm currently watching and receiving notifications on 13 pages of threads. I think I need to go through my watched threads and do a serious purge but when I look over them I feel like most of them are topics that I might want to read or post to again in the future. Maybe I need to turn off notifications for some of them , but that sounds like a lot of work. I think I'm a thread hoarder. How many pages of threads are you watching? Is anyone else a "thread hoarder"?
In Italy we say: "you wanted a bicycle ... now pedal !";)

In Canada we say , "Piss or get off the pot......" I was just looking through some pages of unread posts on watched threads. So many posts to read , so much trim work to get started in house.........

A while back, maybe a year ago, I don't remember, I unwatched everything as it had gotten out of hand. Mind you, I don't get email alerts, just the little red alert in the upper right corner. But it became like crack, I was always going back to check, etc. so I stopped. I think at the time it was over 20 pages of watched threads.

I have tried very hard not to get too sucked in since then. This thread had me wondering, so I checked. Nine pages. Not too bad I suppose. And I am nowhere near as compulsive as I was. Still, might be time to purge, right after I "watch" this thread. ;)

Yeah, under the TalkBass icon on the top left of the screen there should be a little text that says watched threads. If you click on that it will show you the top 30 that you're watching and then on the bottom of that it says show all watch threads and if you click that it'll show you everything you've watched.
I just checked...
There's got to be some poor soul out there on TalkBass who having no idea what's happening to him has accumulated 100 + pages of watched threads.....
...i have 86 pages of watched threads. I usually wake up to about 25 notifications (none are set to email me.) I once had to quit a job because i couldn't keep up with them  A lot of them i never hear from until @Killed_by_Death resurrects them years later

I was about to say that I'm careful to not "watch" more than a handful of threads at a time. I don't want to deal with 25 notifications every time I stop in, and there aren't usually more than a few active threads that I'm interested in following at any given time anyway. Plus, I lose interest in a lot of threads after they've gone on for a few pages, at which time I "un-watch" them.

But then I decided to check and found that I have 39 pages of watched threads -- although about 38 of those pages are threads that have long been inactive. That's when it occurred to me that the list probably includes the vast majority of threads that I've ever posted in, since a thread automatically goes onto your "watched" list once you post in it. (I think there's a way to change that if you wish.) If I went through the list now, I'd probably opt to "un-watch" almost all of them, but as long as they're dead (and thus not producing alerts) I don't see the point in taking the time.

Just for the record, my situation is worse than ever. I've watched even more threads and the notifications are too many to even keep up with.....

There's got to be a better way!

And now there is...
