Thunderbird Club Pt. II

The Lull T4 sports an incredibly low action due to the Plek fret analysis and the setup; really fast. I've never been a pick player, but have been working on it lately. You can bet the T4 through the SVT-CL has " the sound"! For you that use a pick, how do you prefer the action?? Think I'll need to raise it just a bit. I can make this action work for fingerstyle, in fact, it sounds good backing off the attack a bit, and digging in for a little "clank" when needed.[

Mine clanks with the tone up - I love it!

@ gnjpowell

We have a saying at Talkbass "No pics, no bass" but I'll reserve #108 for you but we want pics of your Thunderbird - Action shots welcome.

Scott I think you need to post that shot you have of your typical show rig, the Hiwatt/Marshall set up.........Please :)

Mark the rig is going through some changes I am trying to run all Hiwatt gear though I still have the Marshall stuff. One version of the wall of sound.

Rob we want to see 'em this way!

That looks fantastic, how's it sound to you?
What did put under the pickups to shim them?

:) White/Chrome Thunderbird fun, mine occasionally wears this PG that I cut and custom painted for it.

Those are some beautiful basses! I'd be crazy jealous if I didn't have any T-bird at all.

Question: I'm planning on upgrading the bridge on my Epi T-bird. Hipshot makes what is basically a direct replacement, so that's at the top of my list right now. Are there any other bridges worthy of consideration that are also direct replacements?

I've been following this thread intently - it has increased my already-substantial desire for a Greco T-bird II to meltdown levels. So I figured I should share as well.

Here's my girl, a '95 that came to me with a snapped-off headstock. She was clearly played quite a bit by the previous owner and has some battle scars, but that's just how I like 'em. After a skillful repair by my luthier, she plays great.

I have quite a few basses, and I've always been one to switch it up...but I have grown really attached to this one in the last couple of years, and she gets the vast majority of my playing time nowadays.

I also have a Dillion which I picked up while waiting for the right Gibson to come along, a really nice set-neck copy.

(And not to spam too hard, but the Dillion's for sale...) :hiding:

Not really looking for a number, as I'm not into the whole "club" thing, but I have been digging the 'Bird pr0n and wanted to share some of my own. Cheers!
