Getting real tired of shipping estimates and ensuing delays...

A few weeks back I ordered a Trem pedal, said it would arrive in 5 days. Didn't show up, says will be delivered next day. Keeps happening. Finally arrives after 10 days. Now that's USPS, and I'll give them a pass given the whole situation and funding.

But UPS? I'm less inclined to be lenient with. Package was supposed to arrive yesterday, and yesterday morning I get a notification saying it'll arrive Friday, with a delivery window. Package as the local distribution center, so fair enough, I'll see it Friday. Today, no email, but when I check the tracking, it now shows delivery will occur "before 7pm Saturday". I'd honestly just rather they give estimated arrival time further out, to allow for delays, then say it'll be here, and then keep pushing it back. Now I gotta wait around Saturday for it to be delivered so I can sign.

This is sad. I've been looking for a decent strap that goes lower than the old one I currently have. I have not found anything that moves me. Nothing. All are too skinny or unsuitable for the Holy Grail of Bass Guitar that my Thunderbird has been to me throughout the years.
How long are you looking for? Have you looked at the LM Products Viking series?
I'll second that recommendation. I have a couple of these and am very happy. The happiness is probably related to both the strap and thunderbirds.

Now that I see a pro playing this, I realize that not only am I not smart enough to play that bird, I am probably unqualified (and/or lack the patience) to tune it.
Lol I'm far from a pro with this thing. Tom Petersson gave me a few tips. The biggest one is play with your fingers flat, not arched using finger tips. I've been spending some time with it and am getting more proficient. It's a handful.

Well then I am a step up on playing it. Since the surgery, I haven't been able to figure out a way to arch my fingers like I used to (because the finger tips are no longer independent, index and middle flex together), so I am working with flat fingers.

…needs a bridge cover….:D my 65 rev got a 64 bridge cover now, not cheap…. needs original washers now …. best player ever, love this bird… seller said it was owned by Overend Watts which I don’t believe… by the way the perfect bass (for me) …

I’ve been looking around since before the pandemic. Music stores; online; even specialty makers of leather and I’ve had no luck. I’ve come across a crapload of cool guitar straps but they are just unsuitable for a bass.

I’ll check them out. Thanks for the recommendation.

What length of strap are you looking for?

I was lucky in that my '64 has a bridge cover, pickup cover and the mute is intact (less the felt), the PG wasn't as nice as yours and of course mine has the once detached headstock.....
It's likely the best player ever, just as you say - wish I'd gotten one decades ago.

That's really great to hear. I don't think you've commented yet on the playability of it.
