Dude, your head's on backwards...upside down...:wacky:

I paid $300 in 1975 for that head and 215m cabinet. If the head is working well, it is worth more than the $400 by itself.
sure, it plays to spec (serviced it myself about a year ago) but this has recently become available ….…
real question is; do i really need another amp…

According to the late Pete Traynor, after dropping from the roof, all the glass needed to be replaced. But could then be placed right back into service.
Trace Elliot used to drop an amp from 30' from time to time, look it over, maybe fix something, and plug it in. They gave Peavey a run for their money concerning durability.

definitely a nice pairing…
playing a large brewery tomorrow and wondering what to take…..not everyday one gets the opportunity to use an SVT live….my son’s on board to help if needed….the EVO’s the other option…first world prob..

Come on Chucky, you know...

I don't have much experience with Ashdown, played one that was at a venue that saw the bench about 5 separate times, so I never really picked up on them

I once had a British version of the EVO 500 III.
Very punchy, but need the right cab for it.
They did have a known issue of over heating.

yeah, unlike TE, Ashdowns brake when users are clueless..
the issue with Ashdowns is that, other than thermal shutdown they don’t have any output protection because any fault sensing circuit at the output would affect the damping factor and hence the overall tone by slowing down the transient response, an element Ashdown (like TE) really prides themselves on…..so basically, if user schmoe is clueless and doesn’t read the instructions (heeding the warnings) chances are they’ll damage the amp by not using correct speaker arrangements etc…..these are amps are for grownups…:D

I never abused mine.
I knew it’s limits.
And that sucker could rock it!

But she would over heat and there was the magic smoke.

For that reason never played it live.
At that time I would always use the guitar players Magnavox era SVT and matching 810.

Sounds like things are lined up and right (Large brewery and son to help), to go big or go home! SVT it is. Not often you can use that monster. And I'll be able to hear you play.

noob alert.

I have had 0 interest in a T-bird bass. The closest I've come is that I own a Reverend Thundergun with a reverse headstock. But it's not a T-bird.

I saw a video linked in a thread on another site:
Elle Macho - "Bombs" - Lake Fever Sessions - YouTube

And as I watched and then heard the bass (and the singing and the song) I started to think I *might* need a T-bird in my life? Those of you who own them, though this sound in the video has some sort of OD or distortion on it, is that pretty true to form for a T-bird's sound?

And then I saw another video by the same band and was so taken by an image, that I screen capped it, and made it my wallpaper on my computer. Which also led me to ask myself, "Do I need a T-bird now?"

I don't think you really need anyone to enable you at this point... But, always willing to give a push, I'll say, "Yes".
