What's wrong with the music? Bass trombones and tubas-gotta love it.
Addendum: Angry brass sound?
It just didn't fit the scene at all, at least for me. Just happy go lucky. Maybe it's from Godzilla's viewpoint. That would make more sense.

Welll, there's always this:It just didn't fit the scene at all, at least for me. Just happy go lucky. Maybe it's from Godzilla's viewpoint. That would make more sense.
didn’t remember 60’s reverses did…..remember now from JIO’s..none on my Greco or my 70’s…Which don't have belly cuts? Gibson reverses? Which ones? The Epi VP and CP have them.
Over a year ago, my brother was all hot and bothered to learn Taxman. I said "Yeah, really cool, let's do it!" I went ahead and learned the bass part and learned to play along with the track. Of course, he ends up saying "there are all these weird b7 chords I have to learn to play it, so I haven't gotten around to it". Fast forward to a few weeks ago -"hey I can play Taxman. Have you learned it yet?". Well, yeah, but I have also had the hand surgery since then...
So the last couple of weeks I have worked on it. I am not up to the same speed as the Beatles, anymore. It is more difficult to play and it slows me down. It really comes down to as much as I am adjusting to the new way my index finger works, it is tough for playing. But we have discussed it and we can play it slower.
That makes me think about the arrangement. I have re-learned it playing it on the D standard Thunderbird, rather than on an E standard bass. So it has a darker tone to it. Maybe more of a Queen's of the Stoneage or maybe Kings X vibe to it. I'm now thinking about trying it on the BEAD tuned EB3.
When we get a chance to play together I will report on how it sounds with a more angry tone to it.
Getting to the point. I wonder if I will ever be able to play like I could. I have to think about making my index finger work and it doesn't work like it used to. I think I need something to help with muting as when I play a low G the high G string will rings as I can't mute it like I used. Getting old and having body parts need repair sucks. But I'm making the most of it, no sympathy - just getting on with things as much as I can.
).LOL - you’re gonna fit in great here!sorta wish my phone got the notification of this message before I did some DIY foam adjustments.
Was messier than I expected, tbh.
And once again, we see a bird with the dreaded tort guard, and in my eye it looks great!
No belly cut on my BaCH. None on my Grecos. And IIRC none on my Goth or VP. TBH I really don’t even notice which of my basses have the cut and which don’t. But then again, I don’t really pay any attention to neck width or shape either.later model BaCH NRs didn’t have one either, something I had remedied right away cause not only it wasn’t comfortable to play, but it also hung funnymaking the playing position different….more demanding…
Agree. The miniature worlds built (only to be carelessly kicked apart by rampaging monsters) was incredible. Incredible work went into it. I have always appreciated how well those movies were done. Even the wire-fighting maneuvers were well done.
Edit to add:
Godzilla is already there. He has a home in Shinjuku.
I’ve wondered about getting a belly cut put onto the Goth.
Not sure if I will or not, prob have to strip the whole back and edges back to natural and oil /seal it. Dunno how that’d look with the Goth top.

I was a talentless hack before, so no big change. I don't expect to ever be back to where I was physically, as the surgery created a series of limitations. But things are better than before the surgery. I lament that had I been paying better attention, I would have recognized the problem earlier. However, because of the nature of the problem, there was probably no way to avoid the eventual consequences.I can only imagine how frustrating that is. (To be relegated to playing as poorly as I do is a concern.) But seriously, I admire your tenacity and I have no doubt it will be rewarded down the road. Even playing poorly can be fun. I'm proof of that. There is much enjoyment regardless of skill in the near future and I have no doubt you'll figure out a way to make way more average improvement. Hang in there.
Then it is no longer a princess fingers problem. And he might need psychiatric help. *What if he has basses with Cobalts that he can't even be in the room with because of the strings, which keeps him from taking them off?
Yikes! That would be depressing. I like both my hands!I've had fretting had problems before too, takes some work (and time) to get through. After four of my left-hand fingers got cut ~20 years ago, I didn't think I'd ever be able to play properly again, and sold off all my stuff (which was stupid....).
Took years before I had enough mobility, strength, & feeling in the ends of my fingers to start re-learning to play (still a work in progress), and the end of my left index finger still has issues sometimes.
But I have more fun playing now, than I did before, so there's that, I guess![]()
This is true!Lies! (On the flats, anyway. It's only the princess friends we don't let play flats.)
I never imagined you with glassesThis is true!
And Uncle Red--I mean PillO an I are friends and would never allow the other to take such a dangerous path in life.

So glad you persevered through all that. Good on you!I've had fretting had problems before too, takes some work (and time) to get through. Part of my stage look. I also have less hair in real life. (The curse of having long hair years ago no doubt.) This is so I won't be easily recognized by my adoring fans and groupies.I never imagined you with glasses
You laughed.

Well, I wasn’t going to admit paying to get the membership, if that’s what you mean! You laughed.
I'll take that as a no for you having interest in the fan club.![]()
