I just re-stringed it with Pro Steels (got to use the bright strings since these basses are muddy, right?) and will do a comparison with the Epi VP soon as it sports the same set.

Well I'm certainly glad you caught yourself before rumors and myths were dispelled.

My vague recollection from Silicon Valley was that all the guys developing Palm applications dropped the platform to move to WinCE. I may be wrong; it was a long time ago.

Just out of curiosity, how many here change their bass tone during a gig? With my ThunderJ or ThunderP I can cop widely different tones, mainly because of the series/parallel switch. Parallel gets me Thunderbird and J. Series gets me P or Gibson mudbucker. I do have a Jazz with Aguilar single coils, Dingwall 4 Way switching, and a Wenge neck with jumbo frets which gets me VERY aggressive J or can even cop a pick tone. So here's from our upcoming gig set list:
18 P
13 J
5 Thunderbird
2 Stingray
2 Mudbucker

T and J are pretty interchangeable, the T has more mids

Yep. Nothing like routing all your data through Waterloo Ontario. What could go wrong with a single point of failure? Waterloo rarely gets power outages. Foreign spies have only one "super secure" point to breach to access your data stream. Sending all your data through a foreign country (yes, Canada is still independent from USA). What could go wrong?

I know a few people that really liked typing on those.

Depends on the band/gig, but I typically don’t change tones a lot.
I used to switch to a fretless Acoustic for Sledgehammer and These boots are made for walking in my cover band, but then I got lazy and started using my chorus pedal.

Yeah, the keyboard was seen as the "killer" feature. It was emulated by many. I still prefer a hardware keyboard to the onscreen. The onscreen needs auto-correct and it seems to have a mind of its own; adding alternately humour and confusion.

It depends on the set list, but usually there are some changes.

One of my pet peeves is the wave of "remastered" albums the last decade or so, where "remastered" really means "remixed" and/or "re-engineered" - sometimes with alternate tracks. We hates it, my Precioussss. The songs did so well because they were AWESOME AS THEY WERE.

Yes, remastering is different than remixing them. I buy a lot of original LP's cassettes etc when I can. I'm not anti-digital but like analog better when I can get it.

I put Stainless RS66 Rotos on mine and have been playing it with a pick, clear as a bell and punchy. I don't think it's muddy with fingers either, it depends on how you play it.

The room on stage for a 2nd bass made me wonder, what stand do you guys use to stand your Tbirds? I have 2 that are both fixed bottom (no swivel) stands and as a result, only one side of the bass is supported at the bottom. Are you telling me I need to get a new stand to keep the Tbird off the floor??
