The Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird no joke. That's all I can say for now.

Was Gene initially saying they'll be available in left-handed not a joke either? Gibson owes me a bass.

Here's the pickups, much too thin to be the Ceramic ones used before - and the are labeled Lead and Rhythm as they could well and deliberately have different output. Lulls were done that way.

Thanks. They also look a little different from the backs of the 760s. Not that I thought they would be the same.

Yes. The PG on my 67 is from Pickguardian. No, he isn't allowed to put the bird(or any logo/name)on it. Copyright infringement.(Gold Bird is/was a decal from @Larry V; since replaced with a black one from @Engle)

Addendum: I don't believe anyone could legally put a trademarked logo on an aftermarket PG. At least, not in the US.

Gibson partners with Kiss’ Gene Simmons for G2 custom guitars and basses

Just never was a Kiss fan and that would be enough to keep me from ever buying one. But why Gibson can't do some cool features like inlays or other things without some "name" evades me, like a lot of things. I would think older people from his time would be less likely to buy one, and kids may not have the money. Seems it would have saved Gibson a lot of money (paying Gene) to just do some nice features and sell them since his name would seem to be as much a turn off as a turn on.

But a Chuck P. Thunderbird would have my attention.

If I remember correctly, this Gene Simmons Thunderbird is set-neck. I wonder if the neck thickness will be closer to the standard Reverse Thunderbird or the NR reissues.

Only if legally connected, like All-Parts' Fender authorized necks.

I had a buddy who was a huge fan. We knew a girl who worked at the Forum and was able to sneak us in with Ice Capades tickets. My friend loved it. I was board. The sound was muddy and way too loud. But the faithful couldn’t get enough of it.

I finally screwed those into the Epi VP this morning - Now all I have to do is wire it. Did you keep the Epi pots? I did go ahead and get some 500K Gibson with the thought of rewiring the whole thing - Not that I'm that great with the soldering iron.

Nothing like a early morning screw, I always say.

They are not the same completely different sources. I have photos of the backs of both but I'm tired of posting them.

It is set neck which I actually prefer to neck through.

They are definitely alnico humbuckers. I know that I'm in the minority but I always put the higher value pickup in the neck position not the bridge.

That's what I do. I use the bridge pickup for balance and shaping, not for being used on its own.

I haven't checked the embassy basses, but my crestwood came with cts pots.

I can tell you all a true story about Kiss, before they were Kiss.
I did a while back.
But no way in h£ll do I support them in any way.
