Neither is a joke, although the way some people scream the songs out certainly is. I'm always happy to hear either of them. I wish I were able to play them! If I had to pick one, I'd probably just lock whoever was trying to make me pick in a closet. But if I still had to pick, Freebird the vast majority of the time.

Luckily there are countless songs out there to like or not particularly like. :) As only one example most people dis The Bee Gees, one of my all-time favorite groups. Never stops me from enjoying their decades long contribution to pop music. Oh, and as much as it was similarly overplayed (as FB and StH) at the time - they made some of the best Disco music. Just that no-one yells "Stayin' Alive" at a live show I've ever attended...

Like Disco or not, which I don't, but will admit there were still some pretty cool songs. Some artists were really great at that which they were trying to achieve. Like every other musical trend, there is more trash than gold, but the Bee Gees were on top of that game as much as anyone.

That's part of it, but it's also the fact that the Bee Gee's reinvented themselves successfully based on their talent and tenacity. They never gave up and kept forging forward. Not all of their later post Disco material was great, but it was all the result of continuing to create using the prevailing styles developing. It's almost the definition of Pop music. (music that is popular at any given time regardless of its roots) In the UK, a classical composition is considered "Pop" for the base reason of gaining popularity.

I've played mine more sitting than standing up to this point, but found it fine stock - I have several three pinned Birds tho.

Me, too, but especially Thunderbirds.

I liked the P basses because they taught me how to change the sound with my technique.

I learned that on guitar. It transferred to bass, sometimes even more intensely.

I only recall playing one bass with just a bridge p/u. I hated it.
