It does change the sound. Looks better too but that's only my opinion.

And I read that after LS opening for the Who and being so good, John said that since Leon was a better player this great bass would be better served going to Leon's house.
I know I read this on the internet, so it has to be true.
(Before the death threats begin and I'm canceled from things I'm not on like Twitter and FB--this was in jest and not true. Pure chain yankin'.)
Not the Fenderbird... But dig the inlays. Which is how some should be made.

Yes! Two incredible songs (and they had lots of good music.) Wanna guess where you just took me for background music?Yep. Big Traffic fan here. My favorite is John Barleycorn. “Glad” puts me in a good mood every time I play it.
First practice with the Epi TBird is in the books. ...I record all practices with a little external mic on my phone, placed about 5 feet from my cab and that's about it. I won't bore you with an original, so here's one of the covers we're doing. Bass starts at about 1:30 if you want to listen.
OK, so this is a safe conversation....![]()
For now.![]()
I had been relagated to the basement but after the fledglings left the nest, I moved my gear to the second floor of the house. A week later, I was adjusting some necks.

Get with the program, man. It's cool to be fragilistic. Then some day, in California, you'll be superCalifragilistic. And from there?
Almost certainly. 76 at the latest, but I'd guess 75.I don't know. Maybe Miles can help narrow it down. I would guess '75 or so.
What? You can't go hang at El Parque del Amor? Now that is a travesty.Peru is Crazy Town today, (actually every day) They elected a new president last year who promised to help the poor farmers and people out in the sticks make more money and have a better life etc. Of course with the war all the prices are going up here like a lot of places so they've been protesting here for a few days. Truckers actually burned some toll booths down but here in the city it's quieter but the president has declared an all day curfew to end tonight at midnight to try to stem all the protesting. So of course that riles them up even more and they're marching around the city, blowing horns and yelling "Join The fight!!!" trying to force he new president to quit, they've tried to impeach him twice already. This place is nuts, the last 4 or 5 presidents have ended up in jail or in exile. I think he just ended the curfew because of the protests that he put in place to end the protests. Now protestors are trying to get into congress and the police aren't having any of that so hopefully this ends well.
All this means to me besides maybe it's time to run for my life, is that I can't take my walk today.

I don't know. Never been to Spain. Or Oklahoma.
Not at all? I have done "n~" for years when there's no "ñ" available. (I had to copy and paste that from a manual page for ISO chars - much easier on my iPhone!)The RAE is obviously not ensuring Cuban Spanish, in FL or Cuba.
There were some Spanish Palace Guards staying at the hotel we worked in that told us they could understand us in Ingles better than they could understand the Miami/Cuban version of Espanol.(I don't have the 'wiggly thing' for the N on my keyboard)
I saw Ron Wood's original '68 Tele bass being sold in a London shop some years ago online and it was advertised as a "man's" bass. I had an early 70's with the big humbucker years ago.
very strange...He looked different in RCB. Hair was a lot of what I was going by.Possibly, but from the hair and looks I'd lean toward mid 70s. Both times I saw RCB he played a white Thunderbird most of the time and I don't recall seeing a NR like that. But obviously he did at some point.
First practice with the Epi TBird is in the books. Playing through my TE GP-12, 2x10 Avatar and 1x15 Ashdown cabinets, the bass really cut through the band. Of course it helps that I stand right in front of my rig (with ear plugs) but man, super clear and best of all, on the few occasions when I'd play around the 9-10th frets on the G string, I wouldn't lose the notes. I have a hard time hearing those on my other basses at times, don't know if it's a string or bass thing (or old ears).
Still playing on a 2" strap and yeah, there was neck dive if I took my hand off the neck, but I can deal with that for now.
I pretty much had all knobs at 10 unless we played a quieter song, at which time I'd roll off the tone and the bridge pickup a little.
Playing with fingers or pick (90%/10%), both sounded good. With the shape button on my TE pressed, the bottom end was a little too boomy, would make me self-conscious, but it did sound great. Will be good to get a few more practices under my belt with this bass, as I was noodling around with dials and settings and not 100% dialed into the playing. Overall? Liked it a lot.

What is it a cover of? Sounds very late '60s-early '70s...
Can't tell if you're joking or not (understanding the club, very likely that you are!), but in case you aren't, it's a cover of Led Zeppelin covering Sonny Boy Williamson's "Bring It On Home."
Here's an original:
Almost certainly. 76 at the latest, but I'd guess 75.
I still think it's from Oakland Coliseum 1977:
That doesn't mean he could have used that bass earlier too. In another clip from Oakland he uses the white Jazz.
But if it's the same bass Cliff Williams plays in those '78 photos could it be that Leon gave it to Cliff and later Cliff gave it back? In 1978 Skynyrd was no more so a possibility of being on the same bill is zero. And in '77 AC/DC still had Mark Evans on bass.
Of course it's possible that there was two same looking NR Gibsons with 4 knobs, a pickup selector switch and block inlays in the neck plus the non-original pickguard.
And the NR Cliff has in the Back In Black promovideos is a different 'Bird, it has the normal NR IV features.
Not that I'm losing any sleep over this...
