I like those first two Plant solo albums. Great players (Robbie Blunt's guitar especially) and good and experimental songs not dwelling on his then not so distant past (not that he does it today either). He did pretty well with drummers. Cozy, Barrie Barlow and Philip Collins who toured also. And when Phil's work load got toooverwhelming with both his dayjobs they managed to get Ritchie Hayward to drum.

great tune….guitar a little too in your face (for my taste) on that clip but pretty awesome, thx for posting…..

my nephew trying to customize a guitar for his dad’s birthday present and was wondering what the fastest way to remove a poly finish is……I have the luthier skills of a sand worm…..:help::help::help:

Further tweaks on the NR. The wife and I got to practice a few new songs. Seemed like the Roto Ultramags were not sticking out much so I but some Dean Markley Blue Steels on it. Seemed to have a little more top and mid punch. I also lowered the neck PU a couple turns and that took a little more of some lows out and brought in more definition when playing with another person. Adjustments are done it seems, plays great.

I did notice when changing strings that the tuners were loose and needed a little turn on the nuts. The wood has likely dried out a bit since it left Gibson.

Mine was inspected 7-26-21. Seems like that was pretty early in them going out what what little I know. Anyone know when they started shipping out of the plant?

Yes, especially in CA where paint stripper has been neutered to be ineffective. Just use the heat-gun outside (fumes) and don't leave it in one place too long, as it will start to burn the wood. Otherwise it's the way to go. Also, if your flat-blade is new, file the corners round so it doesn't gouge the wood.

I found the post that Scott said in Jan '21 that they were to begin shipping in April '21, but seems from other various posts July was more likely the release date. Roughly.

Mine was inspected 8/4/21. Sweetwater received some green and burgundy ones before the Pelham Blue ones. They shipped mine to me on 8/25. “My” rep told me that was with the first batch of the blue ones they received. GC got some before SW did. I recall Scott receiving his from his local music store some weeks before I received mine.

Not sure why they were delayed so long. I speculated that Hipshot was having a hard time making enough Ultralights to meet the demand. I waited months for a set of Hipshot tuners for another bass and I was told by a customer service guy that their production was slowed waiting for materials and labor issues because of the pandemic.

Anyway, enjoy your new Thunderbird!
