Indeed. People need to realize that not every product is meant for them, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

Saw a great band for the second time last nigjt, the first time being over a year ago. The band was excellent, but their lead guitarist had issues with his gear...again. his rig was noisy, which was probably the tubes in his head. I'm not sure what brand of head he was using, but don't get a tube head of you can't afford to replace your tubed regularly. That his cab was a Crate didn't help a lot, but he's a very good player and made the most of what he's got...he just needs "better".
I don't replace my tubes regularly. Only when they start making bad noises.

It's probably a preamp tube.

Completely off-topic:

Am I the only one, who have been having trouble reading/loading the TB pages on a mobile unit the last couple of days???

Sometimes the pages take forever to load, and generally act flaky when loaded: weird zooming of the pages, slow reaction (if any) when pressing the "Like", "Quote" or "Reply" buttons...

I've been having this problem for the last 2-3 days on both my iPhone and iPad, and also one day on my MacBook, where it took forever loading a page, and it kinda stuck halfway through...
Never used it on a phone.

Don't you just hate it - For a minute I thought I was GAS free, and then these guys comes along:

Presenting the Ltd. Ed. Korina Flying-V, Korina Explorer, and Korina Explorer Bass

A shame they didn't add a Moderne and a Fire/Thunderbird to the collection...
The Explorer bass is cool. Different pickup positions. I wonder what it sounds like.

Went back to the shop and it looks like a Classic to me (counted 9 layers, that's right?) - though I've never seen one before :) ; looks great too and the case is fine don't know what I was thinking before. :) messages and photos sent to nephew ( he works a lot of Saturdsys so he will see it when he sees it ).
Now some photos:
Yes, 9 layers like this:

Yes thanks for replying. I didn't get a detailed look at the neck but the body back seems the same as yours. :)
I must say it looks a lot better in person than off the epi stock internet shots.

I'm tempted to get it myself, but have given the nephew first crack, and I have said I wouldn't get another bass til next year. I need amp &/or mixer/pa stuff more urgently.

Maybe I should ask for it as a birthday present. I'm a bit taken with it, looks untouched maybe a nos clearance ?

Thanks for the good buzz, everybody. I'm fine, yeah just exhausted, in several ways to next Sunday physical and emotional-raising girls is a rugged business in a harsh world. Glad for a weekend... hopefully a little regeneration, though there's still the same level of sundry and frenetic activity! I'ma sleep late tomorrow, fwiw... glad for that raise though!

It's early this Saturday morning and I'm glad to see that you've come back around to, "I'm fine."

That's way better than what was posted earlier in the thread. I hope you're getting the rest you need, pal.:sleep::sleep: Like, GBassNorth said, "Don't let life get you down."

I like to think that tomorrow's a new day and then I key into what's good and enjoy the little things that take you to your happy place. For me it's doing stuff with the kids/family; sitting down to dinner with them, Netflix, heck even Fall yard clean-up. Then of course there's music. Listening to and playing, separately and sometimes together, always fun and it doesn't cost a penny.

Work is what it is... blocks of time that we sell and sometimes it's hard to find the joy in it. But then I think about what life would be without it, without an income. That settles me down because I know that along with a loving, positive environment, being the "provider" is the linchpin to running our household. It's the grease that keeps the parts moving and I'm happy to be able to do that. :)

If you're nephew doesn't want it get it, they're a class act, nobody notices your amp but everyone sees the guitar

Had a little project a year or so ago and we did this tune... a good one!

Here's Sadie, our 16 year-old rescue cat. This is about 2 years old, she's gotten a little thinner with a thyroid condition, but she still goes out and tries to bring mice and voles into the house. Had to rescue a rabbit from her once. Still a badass, and still my little schnookums.

I've been mucking about today with the Fenderbird project, not as easy as it used to be as I don't have a fully equipped workshop but we do what we can with what we have, which in this case wasn't a great deal but I'm frozen daft and I'm waiting until tomorrow to do a bit more.

I found some photos of John Entwistle's Fenderbird and used photoshop (find edges) to produce a plan for the body, then I printed it to the correct size and cut it out. I used that then to mark out a piece of 4mm perspex to make a lightweight jig from which I could make the heavier jig for the actual body. Why do it this way, well it's a lot easier to make a piece of 4mm thick a perfect shape than a 16mm. I used the heavy jig to mark out the piece of Alder for the body. I no longer have a bandsaw so I had to use a hand held jigsaw to cut the rough shape out which meant I had more material to rout away than I would have liked.

Cool kitty, 16 is a good age. I think cats that have been neglected at some time in their lives and survive are excellent hunters; my mum has a cat that was a stray, it adopted her about 9 years ago but it is still a spectacular hunter. I love watching her stalk a bird, she uses every bit of cover she can to get close enough to pounce

It is fun to watch her hunt! I feel a little sorry for her victims, but it's good to see her not getting lazy and doddering. And I understand about strays and hunting, makes sense.
