Sometimes, songs are just there for me to grab out of thin air.

I love the song “if it makes you happy” by Sheryl Crow and I wanted to write something in that vein.

So I got out my 1987 Vester Telecaster copy since that one has that country rock sound, dialled up a shuffle on my trusty keyboard and set to work. Further instruments used were my self-made Bass which has a Fender 51 p-Bass single coil pickup, it's the perfect recording bass. And the solos were done on my "Boardcaster" self-made guitar.

Lyric-wise, this song is very personal, but I'll keep it at that.

I hope you guys dig it.

Gibson Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird Bass - Silver | Long & McQuade (long-mcquade.com)

One Long & McQuade in Canada has one in stock. And it happens to be my local!

I managed to play the GS Thunderbird today. It is thinner than I expected (my standard of comparison being a Thunderbird CP). It plays really nicely. Looks good in person. Overall, a very nice bass.

Still not sure that it is C$3500 nice.

Organize a sit in hold it hostage until they get your NR to you.

Yeah, about that...

I had an email earlier in the week that it came in (same time as the GS Thunderbird came in). I managed to go pick it up this afternoon.

Fortunately, it is supposed to be rainy this weekend, so I will have some time to get to know it.

I really like Sheryl Crow. I saw her live with Robert Plant. He brought her out for the last encore to sing Rock N Roll. That was great!

My brother and I do My Favourite Mistake. For fun, I will occasionally play it in the style of Steve Harris.

Finally! Congratulations. What did you think about the neck of the G2 Thunderbird compared to the CP?
