Thanks all but this is the Thunderbird club so back to business
The neck was fitted this morning (it's an Allparts with a decal from good old Ebay and sprayed with nitro), I tested the relief but it was very high so I decided to put some angle into the neck, I did that by using the same set up that I initially fitted it with but put some packers under the bridge side the same height that I needed to drop the strings and re routed it. It turned out perfect but introducing the angle opened out a gap at the base of the neck body join, well crap! I'm painting it black so I could put a bit of car body filler in there to fill it out, it's only half a millimetre anyway and the pickguard will cover it so I might not bother, what do you think?
I made a jig to rout the pickups the same way as I did the body jig and cut out the pickup recesses. I drilled out the holes for the CTS pots and the jack socket and cut the control cavity free hand as I couldn't be bothered making a jig by then as I was frozen daft. I also routed the edges of the read of the body with a 10mm radius but I left the front as I'm doing that qith a 1/4" radius cutter but it hasn't arrived yet
That's it for this week, fingers crossed I'll get the body ready for spraying next weekend.
Excuse the wet bits on the back, I had some small dents so that's to raise them out
