Thunderbird Club

I'm not sure what the issue is. PillO had a suggestion that seems very possible, but with my pics being the only ones affected, I can't help but think something on my end, but nothing has changed, I have no idea what to look for or do. And it's odd that some can see them and others can't. I know TB has been "hanging" more than normal, but it still seems odd.
I can’t see them but I use an iPhone. I’m wondering if the visibly of your pics is dependent on the platform used by the viewer?
I don’t know why though…..

I have no idea what really went on 50 years ago. All I know is that both Thunderbird forms are way more comfortable than my P basses or my Mustang. And they sound better too. I’m 64. I own 3 7enders. I doubt I’ll ever buy another one. My MIM P bass with chromes is a great bass.

This is the bass I'm recently smitten by - ESP/Grass Roots Bass IV. Just returned from TSC's rehearsal using it. Gibson, Fender, Teisco, Burns, Custom Kraft, Dano... they're all good! :bassist:

This is the bridge I put on the BlingBird, purchased from Philadelphia Luthier, works nicely but I wish they had used a captive nut design vs tension springs. Those springs take up half the potential intonation travel of the saddle. An easy work around if you run out of room on this type of bridge is to flip the spring and screw head to the other side of the bridge. With the strings I used I had adequate travel so didn’t need to do that.

I sometimes cut saddle springs shorter if needed, or take them out all together. Once intoned correctly (other than changing strings) there's no need for them as the saddles aren't going anywhere.

Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. I hope everyone has had a good week. Glad to say Friday is almost here. Just got home from the Paul McCartney concert and had a great time. Difficult to imagine, but he has started his Got Back tour with an opening night in Spokane. Great local story of his tour manager visiting, and apparently picking Spokane over Portland and Boise to kick things off. Absolutely great concert, that ran just shy of three hours. Paul is in great form, and put on a wonderful show. His band includes Abe Laboriel Jr on drums, as well as horns, two guitarists, and a keyboard/multi instrumentalist. Paul played his signature Hofner most of the evening, but two Les Paul's, mandolin, ukulele, as well as piano. He had kind words and love for George and John, and did a sort duet with John on screen for I've Got a Feeling. He shared a few stories from his past, including a bit about Hendrix. He even played a respectable cover of Foxey Lady. He was very engaged with the audience the entire evening. I encourage anyone who enjoys the Beatles or Wings to catch his concert if he comes your way.
Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have a good weekend.

I don't see them either - on my Android phone, nor on my desktop. But, both are using Chrome......

......and I just checked in Firefox on the desktop. None pictures to be seen :(

but, the desktop is Linux, so.....

Looks like I've just missed Thunderbird Thursday, so I'll go ahead and post a pic of a T-bird anyways :p

I don't post pics of this one very much, I should probably take some new ones
(it still looks the same, just with a Hipshot drop tuner. And different strings.)

My first Thunderbird  :

I get that. I’m actually considering attending the luthier school in Arizona when I retire to learn the skills to supplement my income. Working on guitars and basses beats practicing law any day. So much more rewarding.
Funny, the only lawyers I know with job satisfaction left practice to do something else. Same with investment bankers. People only stay for the money.

Unfortunately, the action on mine is as low as it will go without a neck reset(per my shop-well, not mine, the one I go to). IDK a way to get it lower and keep it original['cept the PG, of course]. I'm used to it, but I wouldn't mind it being lower.
I'd take a pic, but...you know.
There are nubs on the post that the tray for that saddles fit into. You can try taking them out and resting the saddle tray on the bass itself, underneath the bottom nub the saddle normally rests on. (None of this likely contains proper terminology.) My '64 Epi is that way, but trying this did make it too low, but may be worth a shot. Scott mentioned this to me when I first got it. If it looks like it will work, might want to place some kind of material to protect the finish. I can't go over 100s on the Epi or the action starts getting too high.

If you can't use them, list them in the classifieds and you can at least not be completely out on the experiment.

Test that GBassNorth is participating in with pics.

I see pics!
Of Thunderbirds?
I don't see them. @KaraQ needs to come back and let us know if she still sees them.

It has happened that I see them then an hour or so later, I don't. In which case, it is something in the way talkbass is processing the images.

PM me, i might be able to walk you through this.
It really is odd some pics won't post.
