Thunderbird Club

From last friday's gig. The pic is so grainy because the camera had to use all it's energy to decide where to focus. As you can see the neck does not need a licence to dive.

Just to remind that T-Bird is a T-Bird. Sounded muddy too and I think the headstock snapped at least once during the gig. Maybe twice, but who is counting.

Personally, I love this pic!

I have no shaging clue what you are talking about, you could be cursing at me in Klingon.
there is a lot of moving mass in bass amplifying drivers….the less you couple the amp to the speakers the more they will overshoot from their intended position sounding (to me) sluggish and unresponsive…you can adjust for this but it changes your playing style whether you like it or not…

I think I'm going to find a ratty Marshall guitar cab and put some 10s in it, that and an older SWR.

I like Marshall cabs for bass, they made a 412 cab for bass that looked just lead a lead cab except it said bass in the corner. I've never seen one in the US though but I'm sure they're around (for a fortune).

You can tell. Even sounds crappy in the pic. For the life of me I don't get why people play those blasted things.

A beater guitar cab will do - I'll have Frank help me modify it to hold some 10s - There's some kind of SWR or Trace Elliott out there too.......
I'm utterly hopeless with amps.

I almost bought one of the big high powered SS Ampeg a few years ago, in fact I bought an SVT-5pro but they had problems and right before the seller shipped it to me he said it was shutting off and on or something so I got my money back. I then considered an SVT-4pro, the reason I didn't want an SVT-6pro pro is because it won't do 2 ohms and most of my cabs are 4 ohm either Ampeg or Fender cabs, and I'll sometimes use two. I have a little SS class A/B 100 watt B-15T out here that does the job for most gigs.
I had two of these for several years. The 3 Pros have the most tubes of any head that's not fully tube. I think Im right on that. It has 5 pre tubes and one or two kind of function something like power tubes.
Preamp: Tubes (3 x 12AX7)
Driver Tubes: 1 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AU7
It was a nice head. Very warm for SS. But once I got my first V4BH full tube head I never looked back.
(There is a pic from the interwebs. May or may not be seen by some.)
