String update on the NR. I used Fender Flats Wed, Labella DTFs today. I like the Labellas. Best strings so far: Labella or Roto 66 for first place, next would be Roto 66 Nickels, then String Joys. These all sound plenty good enough to stay on it. But I have a few more sets to try. I can't help but think some Pyramid Gold Flats would sound great. (They have two basses I put them on so far.) I don't have a set laying around and don't want to drop over $50 on a trial.

What do ya think?:

Better! But the yellow may look better in person.

I think what's missing is the gloss.

My "Classic White" '89 has aged to almost this color..........Distressing when I first got it, love it now.

My two favorite strings, La Bella DTB and Roto RS66's.

I have a 26 year old "Antique White" Jazz and it's yellow, I don't know if it came that way or not, I suspect it did because it's very even, I've only owned it for about 5 years, I liked the color. I just googled it and it looks like that's the way the color came.

….not a fan of AC coupled bass amps….the phase shift does not allow for the amount of feedback that results in (for me) a desirable damping factor….
lol…and again, don’t really care for voltage operated devices such as FETs…..DC coupled current operated bipolars all day please…
there is a lot of moving mass in bass amplifying drivers….the less you couple the amp to the speakers the more they will overshoot from their intended position sounding (to me) sluggish and unresponsive……

Like any foreign language all this too can be translated for the layperson…

There’s no fan on a couple of my bass amps, they are a bit shifty and when I give them feedback it doesn’t phase them. I’ve tried watering them but like most electric devices these Fricken Electrical Turds (FET’s) just don’t care for it. On an apparently unrelated note - most couples in Washington DC are bipolar and a lot of them move in mass when they drive. However, there are a few couples who like to speak a lot and have a tendency to shoot over the heads of their intended targets, oddly it doesn’t seem to phase them, the targets remain sluggish and unresponsive.
