:(

I'd kill for one of those, what model is it? I love that model, that's a big one isn't it or it is a Sportster? I was considering buy a nice 1200 Sportster but just never did it. I love torgue.

I've been using SVT's since approx 1975, I have a few Fenders and one Marshall Major too but have never really found an amp that sounds as good to me as an SVT. I even dragged a head out here on a plane.

nice! this is my 3rd? got an incredible deal on it (600 bucks!) because it was broken….great sounding amps but not articulate enough for me….I’m an ss Class AB kinda guy….

in my short bass career I went from a 50w crate to some of the newer SS Ampegs.

I now have an SVT 6 pro (too damn heavy) but sounds fine.

I can’t tell if my PF-50t or my Genz-Benz 9.2 shuttle is my favorite. But I really like the PF-50t for treble geetar too, so that narrows it down.

was particularly happy this II is the non-pro flavor…they just sound better imho..

Mine are articulate, I never liked the newer ones as much as the 70's heads, try one of those, I had an 80's Skunkworks head some years ago and didn't like it as much as the 70's heads and sold it.

I almost bought one of the big high powered SS Ampeg a few years ago, in fact I bought an SVT-5pro but they had problems and right before the seller shipped it to me he said it was shutting off and on or something so I got my money back. I then considered an SVT-4pro, the reason I didn't want an SVT-6pro pro is because it won't do 2 ohms and most of my cabs are 4 ohm either Ampeg or Fender cabs, and I'll sometimes use two. I have a little SS class A/B 100 watt B-15T out here that does the job for most gigs.

I have a couple of 4ohm cabs and since they are some of the heaviest cabs on the planet, I would never ever ever bring 2..like not ever…

I’m not sure if my shuttle will do 2 ohms… definitely neither Ampeg will.

I have 2 of the heaviest and ugliest 4 ohm 410's in all creation , when I bought my first one second hand I didn't know what it was and bought it because I wanted something smaller and lighter than my 810's, but this thing weighs almost as much as my 810's and is actually harder to move around because it's huge, and very deep but it sounds really good:

weight 128 lbs.

Ampeg: Pro Series - PR-410HLF

sure they work for you, you praise them often…..just not a fan of AC coupled bass amps….the phase shift does not allow for the amount of feedback that results in (for me) a desirable damping factor….almost like having a torque converter…

It was a '96 Sportster 1200C.

I was second owner, got it in January? February? of '97. Rode it everywhere - good weather, bad weather, I loved that bike :)

That's what the tight SVT cabs are for, they damp the things , but I know what you're talking about, I interpret SS heads as sounding dry but I do like my FET SS ampeg head.

yep got one them AND a Yorkville xc808…. Just as cumbersome as the pr-410, and just a svelt 113lbs…

the built in wheels actually hook onto the lip of the stairs making it harder to move.

lol…and again, don’t really care for voltage operated devices such as FETs…..DC coupled current operated bipolars all day please…

I bought the first PR-410 on ebay as local pickup and was amazed at what a PITA it was to wrestle into my station wagon, I've gotten used to it now and can do it fairly easily but it was almost in mint shape when I first got it and I know why and I only paid 300 bucks for it, this was about 10 years ago. No way could I get it up stairs by myself, it's too deep to get a good grip on it.

Well I wasn’t about to be suckered into buying a second pr-410…. Then I bought the Yorkville… :poop:
