lol…and again, don’t really care for voltage operated devices such as FETs…..DC coupled current operated bipolars all day please…
Looking to start another front on the Talk Bass holy wars?? Tube watts vs SS watts or 7ender vs Gibson isn't good enough? You want to press forward on the voltage vs current amp front??

We should talk about electrical safety...

That's a NICE bass, old white Rickenbackers yellow like that too, I had one, something about the clear coat on top of the paint.
Thanks. As mentioned above, I'm really happy with how it sounds now. Years ago I used Rotos (and the Peavy head and generally a Peavy 215) and was very happy. With the Ampeg stuff it just didn't sound very good. Or my expectations have changed.

Like any foreign language all this too can be translated for the layperson…

There’s no fan on a couple of my bass amps, they are a bit shifty and when I give them feedback it doesn’t phase them. I’ve tried watering them but like most electric devices these Fricken Electrical Turds (FET’s) just don’t care for it. On an apparently unrelated note - most couples in Washington DC are bipolar and a lot of them move in mass when they drive. However, there are a few couples who like to speak a lot and have a tendency to shoot over the heads of their intended targets, oddly it doesn’t seem to phase them, the targets remain sluggish and unresponsive.
Whew! That makes sense. For a while I thought Chuck was talking dirty or something.

No point with the tube vs SS watts, by now we all know tube watts are louder (since tubes are bigger than transistors alloying the sound waves to bounce around more). But the other topics have no scientific consensus as of yet and would be good to be explored.

Rich…..:roflmao:

If you go down that path, don't forget GK Watts.

probably for some of the reasons I was mentioning…. both the Peavey and the GK (absolutely love GK stuff) both share DC coupled bipolar output stages…
