I know. Glad you notice it too. They do, they repeat the same stuff over and over again like it's science or something!

I have 2 of the heaviest and ugliest 4 ohm 410's in all creation, when I bought my first one second hand I didn't know what it was and bought it because I wanted something smaller and lighter than my 810's, but this thing weighs almost as much as my 810's and is actually harder to move around because it's huge, and very deep but it sounds really good:
weight 128 lbs.

That's because your Ampeg's have plenty of tubes...for the sound to bounce around in.

And as not to cause any more damage.....
It's only Sunday night.
My internet says Ampeg watts are the best, period![]()
Those are nice too. They’re now only $100 less than the Mesa. Weight is pretty much the same. I looked at those but didn’t get to audition one. I’d payed through the Mesa a couple times when the Mesa Hollywood store was open. Can’t wait until they finally reopen.I had been looking at this but the price has really gone up since i last looked, Genzler

Sooooo.......tone space then, izzit?
In that case, my Mark IV is almost all tone-space, on the inside.
Other than the one, big, super-heavy electrical doohickey, nothing but empty tone-space between the front & back panels
How many tubes will you need to equal that much tone-space?![]()

While falling off a roof.Must be a southern hemisphere thing. My internet says Traynor watts are the most durable and are fully functional at -40.
don’t want to open a can of worms but simply put, bass frequencies require longer cone throws….longer cone throws require more power….because 99.99% of bass guitar speakers are of the voice coil type, the magnetic fields necessary to move such rugged/rigid structures (cone) require very large currents….with a transistor amplifier the currents are already large and the voltages low making a coupling mechanism such as a transformer unnecessary……the speaker is directly coupled to the output devices…. there is no banpass limitation as observed with an output transformer (especially as it reaches saturation)….totally get the SVT when high power transistors were not available but in today’s day and age…….all that said, I really like my SVT for certain genres..
No, just allergies.speaking of hemispheres, gotta fly to the motor town tomorrow and will go to Windsor as well….cold?..

Don't you mean archnemeses?
I had a mid 70s SVT/810 rig in the early 80s. It had to go up on a ~4' high stage. Once every 50 weeks; then came down for 2 week vacation. Back up again, down again, up again, down again, end of gig. Sold shortly thereafter. Not missed.Don't you mean archnemeses?
There was a good reason it was referred to as a Refrigerator.I had a mid 70s SVT/810 rig in the early 80s. It had to go up on a ~4' high stage. Once every 50 weeks; then came down for 2 week vacation. Back up again, down again, up again, down again, end of gig. Sold shortly thereafter. Not missed.
