I shoulda shined a light on the purple silks. Still liking the SIT's so far. Next gigs 6/10+11, so them's the 'acid tests'.
I should point out that I'm not the least bit 'sick of' the EBCFs. The set I just took off had been on for ~1 1/2 years and had gotten kinda :dead:. Thought I'd give the SITs a shot. They're sounding real good through my 'practice amp'(see pic). I may hafta f---* with the EQ on the gigging amp. Hopefully, I'll get over it.;)

How is the EQ different? I guess what's different in tone between the two strings?

wonder if you get same results boiling flats as with rounds….

I haven't hooked up the gigging amp(Rumble 100)at the house since it'll be different at the room we're playing Friday night; then really different at the restaurant/lounge we'll be in Saturday night. I'll be using the Rumble 40 and possibly the Epi EB-0(tight space-I don't wanna bash the exploding HS against the wall. Or a customer)
It's also kinda unfair to compare them to the 'sickly' EBCFs. There's a lot of clarity or presence that had sorta faded away from the Cobalts.

Don't be sorry, I'm just bad at abbreviations unless they're very common.
I'm not good with them either, which is why I figured if I knew it surely everybody did! :D Most I have to look up. Just not hip and cool any more. I used to be cool, but lost virtually all of it somewhere along the line. I don't know where or when, but I certainly did.

Golly!

Time for revelation: only now did I realize what EBCF is.
Until then I thought it was some tuning.

Holy Moses!
Sorry. I/we had gotten so used to the shortened version here. Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats. I'd be willing to bet if you went in a music store and asked for EBCFs, you'd get a blank stare.o_O

Don't the customers pay for the experience of being impaled by an ejected headstock?

One of many reasons this alien is a flat lover.

I haven't played rounds in years, and have no intention of doing so. :cigar::rolleyes:
I started on rounds but around 2005 I began using mostly flats for a number of years, but have begun to rekindle my love for some rounds and SS in particular--and I'm not the angry piano type. Just doesn't work for what I do.

Yeah. I'll sometimes say "I'm hip(not really)."
