Can anyone tell me the significance of the roman numerals on this T-bird neck? Is this something that someone added after they bought it?

When I first did this project, the position of the tone controls didn't even occur to me although fortunately it worked out as I like to play on the bridge too! I could even do volume swells which I couldn't do as effectively in the "traditional" position!
Another cool unexpected benefit was/is the distance between the nut and the tuning keys on the lower strings being longer now which puts more "Thunder" in the "Boyrd" if you will. There's a mod for uprights that takes advantage of this dynamic, I believe it's called a "B Extender" or something like that but yes that upper wing/horn REALLY makes a difference balance wise not only with a strap but sitting as well:)
