Too bad they didn't film a promo for "Does It Really Happen?" as we would have seen the NR in action.
What I also like about Squire that he usually used the same bass for a song on stage that he used in the studio too. Like the Jazz on "Parallels" or Gibson Triumph on "Turn Of The Century".

speaking of Sequential, E-mu and Yes…97 E-mu company picnic….. never met such die-hard Yes fans….Wakeman used to use loads of E-mu stuff and used to visit..

I think I saw a clip where he used it for "Southside Of The Sky". In another clip he used his other Mouradian (the silver-ish?) for the same song. The original was played on his white Fender Telecaster bass which had apparently went AWOL.

If I'm not mistaken, his ex wife got the Tele and it ended up being sold at auction to Vincent Gallo, who is a Talkbass member.

Thanks! It was a fun project. We jammed and recorded and Konstantine (works for Avid/Pro-tools) would edit/distill the best from each night into individual pieces. We never played live - it was exclusively a recording project.

You've probably noted this before, but how do they compare to the EBCFs?

Tonally opposite. Very old school thumpers, but they have definition and are not muddy, middy, scooped or clanky. Very full-bodied.

When I was a kid I played so hard I destroyed the last two or three frets on a P bass......with flatwounds, with the setup I had at the time I couldn't hear the strings hitting the frets either. I still like to dig in but play considerably lighter.

Did you play drums as well?

Off topic - but IIRC you’re also a frequent user of Pyramid Flats. Donnie seems to favor the chrome nickel flats, is that what you use as well, or do you lean towards the Pyramid pure nickel flats?

Willy may have answered, but the name is somewhat confusing with chrome and pure nickel in it.

The other flat is stainless steel.

I've really loved them at times. Used to sound fantastic on some one of my Pbasses and the '76 Thunderbird, but I don't have them on anything at present. Changed rigs and didn't work for me on the P.
